Charlie was born November 24, 1911 in Rocky Mount, LA and passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2005, in Shreveport, LA. As a small child, she moved with her family to Hosston, LA. She attended Louisiana State Normal, now Northwestern State University, and Centenary College.

Charlie retired after many years of service as an educator with the Caddo Parish School Board. She touched the lives of many students with her wisdom, grace and compassion. Mrs. Fowler was a member of Hosston United Methodist church. Her husband, Clare Maxwell Fowler; parents, Marvin and Idelia (Kendrick) McKinney; brother, Grafton McKinney; and sisters, Doris Lawton and Robbye Morriss, preceded her in death.

Survivors are her daughter, Janice Fowler and granddaughter, Morgan Barta, both of Chicago, IL; sister-, Nelwyn McKinney of Shreveport, LA; brother, Marvin McKinney and wife, Rena of Hosston, LA; sister-in-law, Blanche McKinney; brother-in-law, Rutland Morriss; nephew, Sheryl Lawton and wife, Betty; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank her sitters, Carrie Gaye and Lyshell Nelson, and neighbor, Lucille Clark, for the love and support given to Charlie. She was a member of the Wisconsin Designer Craft Council and served as a presenter of numerous workshops and symposiums. Mary Anna practiced metal smith and exhibited at many juried expositions. As an avid gardener, Mary Anna portrayed her kind and gentle ways through the beauty of her garden. a i Mr. A. Stan Ross SHREVEPORT, LA Stan Ross, 90, died Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at his home following a brief illness. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon, Monday, October 17, 2005 at the First Presbyterian Church of Shreveport with Dr. Robert Laha and Reverend Bryan McDowell officiating.

A graveside service will be held for the family at Forest Park Cemetery prior to the memorial service. Visitation will be at Osborn Funeral Home, Sunday, October 16, 2005 from 4 until 6 p.m. Mr. Ross was born December 6, 1914, in Springfield, Illinois. Stan graduated from the University of Texas, Tau Beta Pi, with a degree in Petroleum Engineering.

He was a member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. He moved to Shreveport in 1938. After working for Texaco for ten years, he co-founded Ross Production Company with his brother, Harold K. Ross. Harold and Stan remained partners throughout their entire careers.

Being a Life Board Member of the American Red Cross, he faithfully served as a constant volunteer and director. He was a Charter Member of the Shreveport Petroleum Club. He was a lifetime member, and Deacon, of First Presbyterian Church of Shreveport. Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor "Huntee" North Ross, his parents, Dr.

and Mrs. Charles W. Ross, his brother, Harold K. Ross, all of Shreveport; and his sister, Especia Ross Gage of Indianapolis, IN. He is survived by his daughter, Anne Ross Lau and her husband, Derek of Vail, Colorado; his son, Alan Ross and his wife, Gloria and their children, Austin and Ramsey.

He is also survived by his niece, Carolyn Brewer and her family; and nephews, Tom Ross and Marshall Gage and their families. Rev. Samples passed away October 13, 2005 in Denton, Texas. He was bom June 2, 1 954 in Shreveport, LA to James and Grace (Travis) Samples. On March 23, 1984, he was united in marriage to Susan Steele in Fort Worth, TX. Rev.

Gil Samples received his Masters of Theology from Criswell College in 1998 and received an Academic Excellence Award in their Graduate Program. He was a 2002 Arts and History graduate of UNT where he was Master Student of the Year and Doctrinal Student of the Year and held a 4.0 GPA. He was a Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas. Rev. Samples was a Phi Alpha Theta of the Alpha Lamda Chapter of UNT.

He had been the pastor of Bethany Chapel Christian Fellowship Church in Gainesville for 19 years. He is survived by his wife, Sue Samples of Gainesville; mother, Grace Samples of Gainesville; sons: Patrick of Long Beach, CA; Bryan of Gainesville and Philip of Denton; daughter, Rachel of Denton and one grandchild.
