Funeral home visitation will be Saturday, January 3 from 12 noon until service time. Mrs. Grems passed away Thursday, January 1, 2004 in Bossier City. She was bom in Jamestown, LA. She was a retired Secretary for the Sales Tax Division of the City of Bossier.

Mrs. Grems was a member of First Methodist Church of Bossier, Bossier Central Lions Club. Bossier Sheriff's Posse Auxiliary, AARP of Bossier and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dalton E. Gandy; last husband, Leonard V.

Grems; parents, Thomas Obie Wood and Emma Rosaline Guin Wood; brothers, Herman A. Wood, Melvin Ray Wood and sister, Betty Jo Wood. She is survived by her son, Dewell Ray Gandy and wife. Martha B. of Germantown, TN; daughter, Sue Gandy Starks Smith and husband.

W. Bernard of Jamestown, LA; grandchildren; Ashley G. Clark and husband, Dr. John Clark of Winston-Salem, NC; Holley G. Pittman and husband.

LA On January 1. 2004 we lost our loving Mother, Grandmother, and best fnend, Elizabeth Burford Dady Pabody. She was above all a woman of faith with the style and grace that made her welcome in every walk of life. She was known for her big smile, optimistic outlook, big heart, kind words, and gentle spirit. She made the world a better place.

Elizabeth was bom at home on March 5, 1921 in Gloster, LA. She graduated from Stonewall High School in 1938. Elizabeth graduated from Northwestern State University In 1942 with a bachelor's and a master's degree in 1966. She retired as a Caddo Parish School teacher in 1982. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, John Green Burford, Sr.

Effie Hall Burford, and Minnie Hall Burford; her siblings, Charles Burford, Mary Burford Hutchins, Frank Burford, Virginia Burford Anders, John Burford, Jr. and her first child Robert Dady. She marned Ralph J. Dady, deceased, in 1944 in Baton Rouge, LA. Her loving children, Ralph John Dady III and Libby Dady Alcorn and her husband George A.

Alcorn, and her grandchildren Erinn Rea Dady. Ryan Alcorn and Avery Alcorn survive her. Her foster brother, Emmitt Scott, her dear friend, Mary Morey, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive her. Elizabeth married John F. Pabody, deceased, in 1972.

She is survived by his sons, Glenn Pabody and wife Maryetta and Cory Pabody and wife Linda and their children Katherine, Claire, Chase, Chad, and Cullen. The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Jimmy G. Smith, the caring nurses and staff at LSU Medical Center, Lifecare Hospital, Willis Knighton Piermont, her private duty sitters, Hospice of Shreveport Bossier, the Ministers from Broadmoor Baptist Church, and her Coed Adult II Sunday School Class. Pallbearers are her nephews Chuck Burford, Jack Burford.

and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II prior to graduation in 1949 from LSU Baton Rouge with a BS degree in Geology. He founded Franks Petroleum Inc. in 1957 where he was actively involved until his death. He was a 50-year member of the Shreveport Geological Society and a member of IPAA.

Mr. Franks was an active member of Trinity Heights Baptist Church. He was a member of numerous other organizations including former member of LSU Board of Supervisors and former member of the Board of Directors of First National Bank. Mr. Franks received numerous honors including Shreveport Chamber of Commerce's 1988 Business Leader of the Yean induction into Fair Grounds Race Track Hall of Fame; induction into Ark-La-Tex Track and Field Hall of Fame; induction into the North Louisiana Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame; and induction into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame at Northwest-em State University.

As a nationally prominent thoroughbred owner and breeder, Mr. Franks was a four-time recipient of the Eclipse award as leading owner in the horse racing industry and was leading owner for numerous years at Louisiana Downs. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ressie Franks, his brother Joseph T. Franks and wife Bess, and sisters Virginia Ward and husband Bill, Joy Hare and husband Les, and Janey Cox and husband George. Mr.

Franks is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Alta Vascocu Franks, his daughters Karen Recchia and husband David, and Jeanne Laing and husband Michael; sister, Mimi Kihneman of Tyler, TX and her husband Milton; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be John Whittington, Lonzo Lanier, Randy Camp, Bobby Jelks, Roger Johnson, Ted Ward, Joel Ward and David Langford. Honorary pallbearers will be L. R. Brammer, John Fryar, Fred Plitt, John Turner, Milton Williams, Herschel Downs and Larry Dickerson.

His parents, James Marion and Thaddie Hannah Davis, sisters, Peggy Jean Carroll, Faye Evelyn Raybum and Betty Jo Gibson and one brother, James R. Davis preceded him in death. Survivors are his wife of 37 years, Freda Solice Davis; daughter, Reba Sanders and husband, Frank; son, Bill-Bo Hyde and wife, Judy; grandchildren, Donald Meshell Sheri Smith, Jennifer Phillips and Shelley Hyde; ten greatgrandchildren; sister, Margie Porter; brothers, Wayne D. Mr. Dickson, 22, of Baton Rouge, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 1, 2004 He was a student at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and employed as a bookkeeper for Ewing-Aquatech Pool Company. He was a graduate of Natchitoches Central High School, a member of First Baptist Church, and a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph Wade and Annie Lee Dickson, maternal grandmothers, Iva Pearl VanVeckhoven and Alma VanVeckhoven. Survivors include his parents, Rev. J. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, January 5, 2004 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. W.D. "Step" Martin. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery, Meriwether Road.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2004. Cory was a lifelong resident of Shreveport, LA. He was bom June 27, 1982 to Michael and Juanita Frazier. Cory loved spending time with family and friends, camping, hunting, collecting guns and loving man's best friend, his dog, "K.C." He was a generous soul that never met a stranger.

Cory will forever be remembered and loved by all that knew him. Preceding him in death was his paternal grandfather, Douglas Wayne Frazier and maternal grandparents, W.C. and Nicky Doss. age 94, passed away on December 31 after a lengthy illness. A native of Arkansas, Mr. Kibler was a long-time resident of Vivian. A retired independent insurance and real estate agent, he had been active in the Vivian United Methodist Church for over 50 years, having served as the church treasurer, a member of the official board, and a loyal, valued member of the church choir. He was an avid golfer who helped establish Monterey Country Club and served as its first president.

He was an original member of the Board of Directors for Citizens Bank and Trust and was currently Director Emeritus. In 1996 Mr. Kibler received a 50 year membership award from the Vivian Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Dorothy Dyer Kibler; three daughters, Shirley McLean of Dallas, TX, Sandra Hendrickson and husband Ken of Logansport, LA and Marian McLaurin and husband Don of Hot Springs Village, AR; four grandchildren, Dr. Andrienne McLean of Richardson, TX, Dr.

Eric McCathran and wife Jill of Marshall, TX, Janet DeFatta and husband Jerry of Keithville, LA and Paul Hendrickson and wife Tanya of Benton, LA; one sister, Maxine Motfett of Worland, WY; and six great-grandchildren. A member of First Baptist Church of Oil City, she was a choir member before her recent illness. Mrs. Allen was an asset to her husband, the late "Dub" Allen, early in their marriage to form his successful oil business. She served as his bookkeeper until her family increased to five children. Her own successful story began at this time.

She loved her children and will be remembered for her untiring love and listening ear. Mrs. Allen enjoyed baking and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as the best pie maker in the area specializing in chocolate, pecan and apple. She loved cooking and was always searching for new recipes to delight her family.

Will we ever miss Mrs. Allen recently made her last pecan pie at Thanksgiving and in her caring way, she made sure a piece was saved for her caretaker, Margaret Barry. She participated in many bowling leagues where she made numerous lifelong friends. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Oil City Hobby Club.

She was a lady who shared her time, friendship and love with anyone in need. Her husband, parents, Henry Ernest and Nancy Ann Evans Smith, sister, Norma Smith and brother, Melvin Smith, daughters, Wynelle Allen and Deborah Allen and grandson, Calvin Allen, IV preceded her in death. Survivors are her sons, W.C. "Pat" Allen, III and wife, Patricia, Ronnie Allen and Alton Allen and wife, Janelle; grandchildren, Ange Allen Rosett, Roysan Allen Rotman and husband, Joe, Mendee Allen Chance and husband, Chris, Lisa Allen Terry and husband, Donald, Christi Allen Pettitt and husband, Todd, Staci Allen Castillo and husband, John, Traci Allen Slagle and husband, Michael, Tasha Allen Daniel and husband, Todd, Christopher Allen and Allison Allen Duke and husband, Jeffrey; 20 greatgrandchildren; two nieces, four nephews; and many special friends.
