Jaguars Shred Texas Southern BATON ROUGE (AP) 1 Southern University's Michael Bryant ran for two touchdowns Saturday as the Jaguars rolled over Texas Southern 35-13 in the Southwestern Conference football opener for both schools. Bryant, a sophomore running back, led Southern's rushers with 129 yards, while Bobby Gollman added 120 yards and one touchdown. Southern's defense held the visitors to a net two yards rushing but TSU quarterbacks Garland Montgomery and Leo Brimmer teamed with fleet wide receiver Ernest Pough and teammate Don Bolden for the majority of Texas Southern's offense 196 yarcb through the air.
