Bryant wan wanted by Yatea i County law enforcement officera' lor Moping the county jail here i on July 9, 1950, after he had se-1 vefely beaten unctergheriff Walter i Clark about the face and head. Mr. Bryant was In jail on a third degree assault charge, fol- i lowing his arrest in June, 1950, by the unerlff'a department after he! allegedly had beaten his wife and broken the arm of Gerald Buleau. Middlesex constable, who answered Mrs. Bryant's call for help.

In 1952, a belated notice was received fay the local sheriff's of- flce that a man giving his name aa Walter Bryant had been fingerprinted at the jail at Helena, where he had applied for I lodging. By the time the fingerprints had been processed at the Federal Bureau at Investigation at Washington, D. Mr. Bryant had disappeared again. Word of his death came to Walter Bryant's mother, who lives in the Dundee area.

Mitchell at Savona. He also attended medical lectures in New York city, graduating from the Long Island College of Medicine. More Than 60 Yearn Practice He began his practice in Savona, but came to Pulteney about 65 years ago and was most active as a physician in that section of Steuben county until he was in his early 90's. Ho served the Town of Pulteney as health officer for 35 years, is a member of the New York Stale Medical society and the 'Pulteney lodge, IOOF. One ot the last of real old- fashioned and revered country doctors, he always maintained that walking is the best exercise there is.

Next to inheriting "long- life cells," he gave as his recipe for long life, walking, plenty of sleep and freah air. Besides his wife, to whon? he was married 45 years ago, the doctor's nearest relatives are second cousins, though the friends of this man who served thousands and delivered hundreds of babies are of course legion.
