MiHmnHTBMR The Time 1B-A ov. 10. I(R3 MS chapter to assure patients Reed Barton's King Francis Holloware Assurance that the Louisiana chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will continue to serve them will be given to MS patients at a meeting tonight at Holiday Inn-Bossier. Executive Director Deanie Gross will meet with Shrevcport-area clients at 7 p.m. She and Assistant Director Pat Cray will be here today and Friday to interview applicants for the position of outreach coordinator, which Norma Johnson vacated when the North Louisiana branch broke away from the state and national organizations.

Ms. Johnson is executive director of Multiple Sclerosis of North Louisiana which the local branch organized after severing connections with the state and national groups. Ms. Gray said the meeting with clients was called to tell them the state chapter has no intention of interrupting services here and to review the services for their benefit. The state chapter has an office at 3825 Gilbert St.

Pending replacement of Ms. Johnson, its calls are being forwarded to the chapter's New Orleans office. Ms. Johnson resigned last week following the local board's Oct. 28 decision to leave the state and national groups and set up its own organization.

Wayne Curtis, chairman of the new organization, said the branch severed ties with the others out of dissatisfaction with their use of money raised here. Advertlwmenl BITUAKDES Hussey, Scotto to lead forum v7. i' ''t Ami Mm A 20 Savings Now Through December 24 Mayor John Hussey and City Councilman John Scotto will headline a public forum today to discuss Shrevcport's $80.3 million bond issue and half-cent sales tax proposal on the Nov. 19 ballot. The forum, sponsored by the Shreveport Jaycees, will be held at the Byrd High School auditorium from 7 p.m.

to 9 p.m. Also on hand will be a spokesman from the Caddo Parish Library Board, who will explain Proposition 1. It would provide a parishwide property tax renewal and a .95 mill increase to support the Shreve Memorial Library system. Besides explaining the election proposals, the speakers will take questions from the public about the issues. Most of the bond issue would go to street and drainage improvements across the city.

It would also fund a federally mandated solid waste disposal facility, park improvements, a museum and park on Cross Bayou, industrial park development and a baseball stadium at the Fair Grounds. The half-cent sales tax would raise the existing tax to 6 cents and provide funding for the police and fire pension system, additional police officers and firefighters, street maintenance and cost-of-living pay raises to city employees. The library proposition would call for a 3.25 mill on property taxes. The present tax of 2.3 mills was passed in 1978.
