Lynne Fitzgerald MathScience Building. Holly Henderson was named a Caddo Parish Student of the Year finalist, Presidential Scholars candidate, LSUS Outstanding Senior and one of the best young writers in the nation by the National Council of Teachers of English.

Holly Henderson was named a National Merit finalist, Dock Voohries Was a National Merit Achievement finalist and Katie Bourque; Alexa Davis and Ldura Lilley were National Merit Commended Scholars. Miles Sugar and Dock Vpohries re- ceived certificates of merit from the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program. The "purple" team placed first and the "gold" team second in the Northern Regional Science Olympiad competition. Gold medal winners were Megan Lynch, Miles Sugar, Alex Munroe, James Geoders, Danel Miller, Laura Lilley, Lindsay Smith, Casey Bourque, Davia Drummond, Greg Glass, Cole Loggins and Cade Cannon. Congressman Jim McCrery honored Evangel by presenting the student body an American flag flown over the Capitol in Washington, D.C., on the day we won the 5A football championship. Evangel was one of 16 schools invited to participate in the Beachball Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C., featuring academic and basketball competition. ECA's academic team received one of only four trophies presented.
