Paul G. Dennis, D.D., pastor of the First Methodist Church. He said the call to special prayer was sounded by the Methodist Council of Bishops and the church's General Board of Evangelism in view of the "exceptionally grave condition of the world today." Dr.

Dennis said that Bishop Henry Knox Sherrill of New York, president of the National Council of the Churches of Christ and presiding bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church, has also urged prayers for peace. Dr. Dennis will preach at the 11 a. m. service in his own church tomorrow on the topic "Our Lord Emmanuel." Pilgrim Covenant Schedule Revealed The Rev.

William J. Jackson, pastor of the Pilgrim Covenant Church, has announced the schedule for tomorrow's activities, which will be concluded with a Watch Night service. Sunday School will meet at 9:45 a. followed by the 11 a. m.

worship service. The Watch Night service will be conducted from 9 p. m. until midnight The Brother hood of the church is providing the New Years program and lunch. A Communion service will con clude the evening's program.

Great Events To Be Depicted The Rev. Gerald T. Krohn, pas tor of the First Presbyterian Church, will tomorrow review 50 years of great events In the religious and civil life of the nation. His morning sermon topic will be, "Something New Under the Sun." The Rev. Mr.

Krohn's text will be the same used by the Rev. Louis E. Bond, first pastor of the church, in his historical review on Jan. 1, 1851. It is found in I Samuel 12:24, and reads: "Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things He hath done for you." Prayers for peace, missions and the conversion of communism will feature the Watch Night program tomorrow evening.

Members will meet for tea and a fellowship period at 10:30 p. following which the service of song, prayer and witness will be held. The pastor will bring a brief message. Adam Valentine, a member of the Session, is in charge of the New Year's Eve observance. Another event scheduled for to morrow is a tea to be given by the Rev.

"THE RACE OF LIFE" Tounder's Day will be observed tomorrow in the Monroe Avenue Methodist Church, in recognition the group which established the church more than half a century ago. It began as a chapel in April, 1891, but became a church offic ially in the closing days of the year 1896. On 31 of that year by invitation of the First Methodist Church, the mother church, a joint Watch Night service of the united Methodists of Plainfield was held. The Rev. John M.

Jaqueth, present pastor of the church, will speak at the 11 a. m. service tomorrow on "Christian Pioneers." A Watch Night service to open the new year will be held from 9 p. m. to midnight The program will be divided into three parts of one hour each.

Harry Ring is general chairman. W. L. Jeffrey and Miss Anna Matthews have charge of the first hour, Ralph Ludgate and Mrs. George Woodland the second hour, and Werner Sharp and Mrs.

Harry Ring, the third hour. The pas tor's quarter-hour will begin at 11:45 p. m. 'His theme will be What of the New Year?" The MAK Bible Class will meet at 2 p. m.

Tuesday in the Epworth House. The class' January and February meetings are being held in the afternoon instead of the evening. Mrs. Fred Huby has arranged a special New Year's program for Tuesday. Pastor to Talk On New Year "How to Enter the New Year" will be the theme of Dr.

Harold R. Husted's New Year's sermon at the 11 a. m. worship service of the First-Park Baptist Church tomorrow. The choir will sing under direction of Ralph Hunter.

All departments and adult classes of the Church School will meet at 9:45 a. m. The nursery on the second floor of the Parish House will be open from 9:45 a. m. until the close of the wor ship service to care for babies under two years of age.

A New Year's Eve candlelight- ing service will be held in the sanctuary beginning at 11:15 p. m. The service will close as the New Year dawns with a "prayer circle" extending around the sanctuary, as the pastor prays for peace on earth and good will among all nations. The Woman's Society will hold a New Year's tea in Fellowship Hall at 2 p. m.

Tuesday. Mrs. Harold R. Husted will be in charge of the "love gifts" presentation. Miss Jean Luckey, who has just returned from Africa, will speak on "The Belgian Congo in This Hour." Mrs.

C. L. Olmstead will be the pianist Prayer Hour Announced The 11 a. m. service tomorrow in Grace Episcopal Church will consist of Morning Prayer and sermon by the rector, the Rev.

Harr James Knickle. An early celebration of Holy Communion is scheduled for 8 a.m. The Upper School (Grades four through 12) will resume its study period in the Parish House tomorrow at 9:30 a. followed by a worship service in the church at 10:10 a. m.

The Lower School (nursery, kindergarten and first three grades) will meet in the Parish House at 10:50 a. m. Wil liam Clarkson Jr. will conduct the worship service for the first three grades. All boys and girls who have not brought in their Advent offering boxes have been requested to do so tomorrow.

Free Methodist Revival Scheduled The Rev. Howard Rose, evangelist, will preach at both morning and evening services tomorrow in the Highmount Free Methodist Church. He will also conduct serv ices each evening at 8 p. m. from tomorrow through Jan.

Korean Relief FuiidsCollected More than $600 was collected for the work of rehabilitation and relief in Korea at a special Christmas Eve offering taken in the First Presbyterian Church, the Her. Archibald Campbell, to be administered by him. The Rev. Mr. Campbell, a missionary, to Korea, served as interim pastor of the local church from 1943 to 1946 while the Rev. Horace L.

Fenton was serving as an Army chaplain. After the war the Rev. and Mrs. Campbell returned to their work in Korea. Since the opening of the present hostilities, Mrs.

Campbell has been living in Japan, while her husband has been carrying cn relief and rehabilitation work among Presbyterian and other denominational groups in Seoul and elsewhere.
