Her gown was of ivory satin and was worn with a tulle veil which was attached to a cap of lace, fashioned after the peasant style and tied under ihe chin with a band of tulle. Tew. Dr. Burgess Talks At Pineland School Dr. Charles F. Burgess addres sed the graduating class of the Pineland-Bokeeha school on Wednesday evening.

He stressed the imnortance of using the tools ac quired in the first eight years and proved to the pupils how ihey would be benencial to them in rue years to come. He congratulated the teacher and pupils on their achievements during the past year, after which the rhythm band play ed "America" as a closing number. Before the address1, a program, Musical Aeroplane Trip Around the World" was uiven by the school. The teacher, Mrs. Waldron acted pilot.

The program follows: "Aeroplane Song, by school. "Indian War Dance," by five boys, rccitatic. "Trees," by Lillian Barnes: "Fandango," song and dance by Mary Katherine Caputo and Juanita Ross; piano duet, Hawaiian Nights," by Miss Almo Hilt- brand and Mrs. H. H.

Hiltbrand; "Japanese Doll Dance," by rhythm band; piano duet, "Chopsticks," by- Mary K. Swanson of Fort Myers delivered a rery inspiring address on the subject, "A Good Name." Dancing is a required course at the U.S. West Point Military academy. in the Philippines. Mrs. Elms' mother, who is the former Miss Rosamond Flower Rothery, is a daughter of the late John Jay 13.

Kothery of Boston and the late Mrs. Kothery, -who was Miss Rosa- mand Pentecost of Kentucky. The bride attended the Nightingale and Spence schools and in 1935 was graduated from the Dalton schooL She studied also for a year in 'Italy. Mr. Elms, who is a member of H.

Goodrich Weds Miss Foster Today Ceremony to Take Place At Home of Brhle on Riverside Drive Miss Barbara Gail Foster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 'V. "osier, and Harrison Goodrich, son of Mrs. Beulah Goodrich, will be united in marriage in a quiet ceremony at 8:30 o'clock this morning it the home of Miss Foster's parents on Riverside Drive.

Miss Foster will wear a iailortd frock of white, sharkskin and her-corsage will be of gardenias and Talisman roses. Her attendant. Miss Christina Hill of Miami, will wear a dress of electric blue crepe with navy accessories. Her corsage will be of red roses. Chadbourne Wiltshire will serve as best man.

The ceremony will be performed by the Rev. William Graham Kennedy, pastor of the Presbyterian church, in the presence of a small group of relatives and friends. The house will be decorated with potted palms and tall baskets of white gladioli and white roses. An informal wedding breakfast will be served following the ceremony, after which the young couple will leave by motor for a wedding trip of a week on the East Coast. Miss Foster, as a going away ensemble, will wear a dress of luggage tan.

DELPHIAN SESSION Mrs. Jim C. Clements, president will open the meeting of the Alpha chapter of the national Delphian society, to be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Town club. Mrs. James C.

Spooner will preside as leader for the meeting her home, 1112 Evans avenue. The refreshment table, centered with a large candle lighted birthday cake, was decoratved vari-colored zinnias. Games were played dur ing the afternoon after which ice and cake were served. Those present were Colleen and Helen Cooper, Harvey Powers, Sherry Ellis, Betty Jean Murphy, Marian Woolsey, Connie, Al and Uaby Smith. Beach School Has Closing Program The Mayhew Page school held closing exercises on Thursday ve-ning at 7:30 at the chapel.

Despite inclement weather, the chapel was packed to the doors. Olive, N. C.

Mr. McFerron will attend summer school at the University of North Carolina. Mrs. L- V. Engelhardt iter family have moved from Fowler street to the home they purchased at 2110 Royal Palm avenue.

Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Clark went to Fort Myers Beach yesterday to spend several weeks.

Mrs. Nelson Steinmann, her daughter Janice and her son, Jerry left yesterday for their home in Waukeshal, Wis. They spent the season in Fort Myers. Miss Sara Davis went to DeLand yesterday to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Joe Davis. Miss Hilda Hendricks, who has been teaching school in West Palm Beach, returned to her home 'n Fort Myers yesterday. Supt. and Mrs- Harry F. Hendry will leave today for Durham, N.

Jaycees to Sponsor Benefit Dance Friday The junior chamber of com merce will sponsor a benefit dance Friday night from 9 until 1 o'clock at the Town club.

The proceeds will be used to defray the expenses of sending Oscar Edwards of Es-tero and Lee county marbels cham pion to Gulfport, on June 12. At Gulfport he will participate in the southern tournament. Bill Smith and his orchestra will contribute the music for the dance and the Everglades Flower shop will give corsages to the sponsors who are Mrs. Gilbert H. Parker, Mis3 Christine Needham and Miss Sophie Draughon.

Eiehtv members of the Jaycee club have been mailed tickets and they are asked to pay for them at the Town club, chamber ot commerce, Elof Peterson at the Lee Countv bank, or at the door the nieht of the dance. The commit tee in charge of arrangements is composed of Elof Peterson, Leo Engelhardt. Jack McDowell, Lynn Gerald and W. W. Cheery.

BEST DANCERS Miss Mamie 0. Clements and C. T. Tew were awarded a loving cup as the prize for the couple giving the best exhibition of ballroom dancing Friday night at the graduation dance at the pier- The juking contest was won by Miss Martha Anderson and Gordon Col- cord, who also received a loving cup.
