Frank J. Sievers of South Ave. became the bride this morning of Rossa William Cole, son of Mrs. William Cole of Rye, N. Y.

and the iate Mr. Cole at a Nuptial Mass celebrated in. Holy Trinity Church by the Rgt. Rev. Monsignor Henry J.

Watterson, pastor. A wedding breakfast followed at the William Pitt in Chatham. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore white chiffon over satin. Her gown had a high round neckline, bishop seeleves. a satin applique girdle with a full skirt and a court train.

Her illusion veil attached to a shirred juliet cap was held by a cluster of orange blossoms. She carried a white prayer book and sweetheart roses and gardenias. Miss Eleanor Sauer of Hollis, L. I. was maid of honor.

She wore a candy pink self printed organdy gown trimmed with lace and carried a colonial bouquet of mixed Bowers. Miss Claire Richter of Hasbrouck Heights and Miss Barbara Jane McChesney of Orange, were bridesmaids. They wore gowns similar to that of the maid of honor in heavenly blue. They wore tulle headdresses trimmed with dasies and carried colonial mixed bouquets. William Cole Jr, brother of the bridesgroom, was best man and Charles Stotz of Montclair and Frank Sievers, brother of the -bride, were ushers.

The couple left on a wedding trip to the South following which they will make their home In Orange. Mrs. Cole is a graduate of Holy Trinity High School and attended the New Jersey College for Women following which she was graduated from the Orange Memorial Hospital where she now is assistant head nurse. Mr. Cole is a graduate of Rensaeller Polytechnic Institute In New York and is professor of aeronautics at New York University, New York.

A series of entertainments in honor of the couple was climaxed Friday night with a supper party given by Mr. and Mrs. Sievers for the bridal party in their home following the wedding rehearsal. Marion Jane Corke, M. E.

Bailev Engaged Westfield Mr. and Mrs. George R. Corke of Clark St. have announced the engagement of their daughter.

Miss Marion Jane Corke to Milton E. Bailey, son of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Bailey of West Or-Orange.

Miss Corke is a graduate of West-field High School and attended Bucknell University for three years. She is a student nurse at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Mr. Bailey is a graduate of Norwich University. Northfield, and is associated with the perry Gyroscope Company, Brooklyn.

Miss Heald is a graduate of West-field High School and will complete a course at Paine Hall School, New York on the day before her wedding. and Mrs. Reinhart O. Osterman of Maplewood, became the bride of William Francis Kennedy, son of Mr. and Mrs. William J.

Kennedy of Walnut St. The Rev. Don Ivan Patch, pastor, officiated and the bride was given in marriage by her father. A reception for the couple followed in the Chatelaine and they left for a short wedding trip to Atlantic City following which they will return here for a day before going to Phoenix, Ariz, to reside. The bride wore a white marquisette gown with a long train, sweetheart neck, short puffed sleeves and a fingertip length tulle veil attached to a sweetheart cap held by a spray of lilies-of-the-valley.

She carried a colonial bouquet of white sweetpeas and gardenias in a lace holder. Miss Marie Wagner of Maplewood was maid of honor. She wore a maize marquisette gown similar to that of the bride. From a crown of yellow flowers In her hair she wore a shoulder length tulle veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of mixed pastel colored flowers.

The bride's niece, Annette Osterman, was flower girl. She was dressed in aqua-blue marquisette and carried a small colonial pastel colored bouquet. Herbert W. Osterman, brother of the bride, was best man and William T. Ewen, nephew of the bridegroom and Floyd Osterman, another brother, ushered.

Mrs. Kennedy was graduated from Columbia High School while Mr. Kennedy is a graduate of West-field High School. Friday night Mr. and Mrs.

Osterman of Wells St. entertained at supper for the bridal party in their home preceding the wedding rehearsal. Sigismund IvanowskVs Students9 Art Exhibit Opens in Westfield Westfield An exhibition of the work of Sigismund Ivanowski's art students opens today in his studio at 102 juim st. The exhibit will be open to friends and all those interested in art daily from 3 to 5 p. m.

through Sunday, June 29. The affair is an annual event in which students from many towns in the vicinity participate. Mr. Ivanowski, well-known Polish portrait painter, first came to West-field 25 years ago, subsequently spending many years in Europe and New England. Mr. Beckwith was graduated from Phillips-Exeter Academy in 1937 and attended Williams College where he was elected to Beta PsI fraternity. Walter Clement chair man of program committee of the Monday Afternoon Club, has announced several of the fall meetings already are arranged and a number of unusual and outstanding speakers will be presented. At the opening meeting in October, John Stapler Hollister will describe his adventures and hardships in a lecture "Around the World on a Dollar a Day" He bicycled 3,000 miles In Europe slept In the crater of Vesuvius and' interviewed Mahatma Ghandi as well as experiencing trying and amusing situations. An outstanding speaker in November will be Dr. Tehyl H3ieh author of "Confucius Said It First and other books. Dr.

Hsieh is a graduate of Cambridge University and was for many years in Chinese diplomatic service in Europe, Asia and Australia. Later in the season, Rene Dus-saq, popular lecturer from South America, will be presented and several programs are being planned by a new department of Home and Garden. In addition, the club members will present programs of music under the direction of Mrs. Noel George Evans, newly appointed music chairman, and short plays are to be given by the Kenyon Players with Mrs. Joseph William Mooney as the new chairman.

Aerogram on interior decoration, special Christmas and Easter programs are on the schedule. Miss Flora Mai Holly will return for a review of current books in December and Richard Newton will discuss current plays. Other department chairman already appointed for next year are Mrs. Wilbur H. Rogers as public affairs chairman and Mrs.

Y. The bride is the former Miss Edna Ruth Van-Wyck of Poughkeepsie. James H. Floyd, Edna VanWyck Are Wed Today Miss Edna Ruth Van Wyck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Edmund Van Wyck of Poughkeepsie, N. was married this afternoon to James Herbert Floyd, son of Mr. and atrs. James R. Floyd of 1231 Thornton Ave.

The ceremony' was performed at Christ Episcopal Church In Poughkeepsie by the Rev. Dr. Alexander Griswold Cummins. A reception followed in the garden of the Van Wyck farm at La Grange, Poughkeepsie. The bride, who was givei in marriage by her father, was attended by Misa Charlotte Cramer of Poughkeepsie as maid of honor.

and Mrs. Francis Kiss of 287 Leland became the bride of James Gardner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gardner of 44 Westervelt Ave. at a nuptial Mass this morning in St.

Bernard's Church. The Rev. William F. Burke officiated. A reception followed at the home of the bride's parents.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white shadow sheer, street length, and carried a colonial bouquet of gardenias and white rosebuds. She was attended by her sister. Nils Y. Wessell, brother of the prospective bride, will give his sis ter in marriage. Her maid of honor and only attendant will be a sister, Miss Runhild Wessell. Mr. Teichmann has asked Olyphant Mills Talbot of Philipse Manor, N.

to be best man. Miss Wessell, whose engagement was announced in March, attended Plainfleld schools and the Mary Washington College. She is a grad uate or Katharine Gibbs School in New York. Mr. Teichmann, a graduate of the New York University and Brooklya Polytechnic Institute, Is associate professor of Aeronautical Engineering at NYU.

The couple will live in River- dale, N. Y. Florence Morris Wed Today to Robert Brown New Market Miss Florence A. Morris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Joseph Morris of Hoe's Lane, will be married to Robert D. Brown, son of Mrs. Gladys Brown, William St, today at 2 p. ra. in the First Baptist Church.

The Rev. Malcolm R. Palmer will officiate. Mrs. Ruth Randolph of Plainfield will be matron of honor and Newton Meyer of South Plainfield will be best man.

A Becomes Bride Of William Carson Miss Florence Tovell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edward Tovell of 161 Westervelt Ave, waa married this afternoon in the Watchung Avenue Church to William Carter Carson, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Carson of 1535 Myrtle Ave.

The pastor, the Rev. Earl E. Hair, performed the cere-mony which was followed by a reception at Pedeflous. The church was decorated with baskets, of flowers, ferns and palms. The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose wedding gown of celanese with sweetheart neckline.

Insertions of lace, a long train and long tulle veiL. She carried a colonial bouquet of gardenias aHd bahy's breath. Miss Bernice Lapp of Greenbrook Rd. was maid of honor. She wore Copenhagen blue chiffon with a matching shoulder-length veil falling from a tiara of flowers similar to those in her colonial bouquet.

Bridesmaids Bridesmaids were Miss Helen Murphy of 930 South Ave. and Miss Claire Tovell, sister of the bride. They were gowned in peach chiffon and, also wore matching shoulder veils and carried colonial bouquets decorated with pastel ribbon streamers. Gail Wilson, young niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl. Her frock was of Copenhagen blue net over peach, a long dress, and she carried a basket of rose petals which she strewed before the bride as she walked up the aisle.

Cyril H. Nield of New Brunswick was Mr. Carson's best man and ushers included Albert Wilson of Pearl Howard Krausche of Willow Ave. and Llewellyn Thomas of Kensington Ave. Mrs.

Mildred Searles was at the organ" and Miss Doris Simon sang "I Love You Truly" and Promise Me." To Live in Scotch Plains Following a wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Carson will take up residence in the new home they have purchased at 1381 Channing Chestnut Farms, Scotch Plains. For traveling, the bride wore a pale green crepe dress with white accessories. Mrs.

Carson, who is a graduate of the North Plainfleld High School, is a member of Gamma Lambda Tau sorority. Mr. Carson also is a graduate of the North Plaihfield High Schol. The announcement was made Friday evening at a dinner given by the bride-elect's parents at The Brook in Summit. Miss Stillwell is a graduate of the North Plain-field High School and her fiance was graduated from the Plainfleld High School. The wedding will take place Aug. 30. Engagement Announced 9 I.

Walker, son of Mrs. Florence Walker of Newark and the late Mr. Walker. The bride-elect is a graduate of North Plainfleld High School. Her fiance was educated in Newark.

No date has been selected for the wedding. Don Budge rTiiMmn Pauline Jourdan Bride Today of James Rilley Jr. Westfield At a double ring ceremony this afternoon in the First Methodist Church, Miss Pauline Rose Jourdan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Jourdan of Newton, 111., became the bride of James Richard Rilley son of Mr.

and Mrs. James R. Rilley of Clark St. The Rev. John Wesley Lord, pastor, officiated and the bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Earle C.

Fuller. A reception followed iH the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fuller, Belyidere with whom the bride has' been making her home for the past few years. The couple left for a wedding trip of three weeks through the New England states and Canada, following which they will make their home in Westfield.

The bride's gown was of marquisette with satin insertions and short puffed sleeves, a sweetheart neckline, a long train with the satiri insertions and a full skirt of double marquisette. Her long illusion veil of tulle was held by a coronet of marquisette. She carried a cascade bouquette of white roses. Mrs. Stuart Austin of Cranford, the former Miss Elizabeth Marshall of Westfield, was matron of honor.

Her aqua marquisette gown had a full skirt and was similar to that of the bride. She wore fresh flowers in her hair and carried a bouquet of old fashioned mixed flowers. Two sisters, Miss Kate-Ethel Jourdan and Miss Hazel Alice Jourdan of Newton, I1L, and Miss Margery Swartz of Elizabeth, were bridesmaids. They wore pink gowns similar to that of the matron of honor and carrie mixed flower bouquets. Miss Lois Fuller, cousin of the bride, was a Junior bridesmaid and wore pink marquisette and carried an old fashioned mixed bouquet.

The senior Mr. Rilley was best man for 1 son and Howard Jourdan of Lincoln, 111., brother of the bride; Spencer Reynolds of West-field and Stuart Austin of Cranford ushered. For traveling Mrs. Rilley wore a pink linen suit with black and white accessories. She is a graduate of Westfield High School and Mr.

Rilley was graduated from Westfield High School and attended Pratt Institute. He is with Gibbs and Cox, marine architects. Following the rehearsal Friday night Mr. and Mrs. Rilley entertained the bridal party at a buffet supper party in their home.

Pearl M. Huf eld Is Bride of H. C. Pfeifer Jr. Westfield Miss Pearl Marie Hu-feld, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Thomas Hufeld of E. Broad St. and Henry C. Pf eifer Jr, son of Mr.

and Mrs. H. C. Pfeifer of Cedar Run, Mountainside, were married this afternoon at a ceremony performed on the lawn of the Pfeifer home. The Rev.

John Wesley Lord, pastor of the First Methodist Church of-ficated and the bride was given in marriage by her father. The bride wore a white gabardine suit with a white straw picture hat. She carried a bouquet of white roses and babys breath with streamers. Miss Jeannette Pfeifer, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid and only attendant. She wore a blue gabardine suit with a matching picture hat and her flowers were pink roses.

John Kovaks of Mountainside was best man. A reception for the couple followed in the Pfeifer home, Mr. and Mrs. Pfeifer will live in Mountainside. Both are graduates of Westfield High School.

Mrs. Pfeifer is on the staff of the West-field Leader. Dorothy L. Vaiden Selects Wedding Date Westfield Miss Dorothy Lang-horn Vaiden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

John L. Vaiden of Bradford Ave. has selected July 11 as the date for her wedding to Arthur Frederick Stemmler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stemmler of Summit.

Ceremony will take place in the Vaiden home at 8:30 p.m. and the Rev. Arthur F. O'Donnell, pastor of St Paul's Episcopal Church will officiate. Miss Barbara Vaiden will be her sister's maid of honor and Miss Jean Vaiden, another sister, and Miss Marie Stemmler, sister of the prosective bridegroom, will be bridesmaids.

William Henry Mahan of Cranford became the bride of Sylvanus Waterman Jenkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Jenkins of W. Front Plainfleld, formerly of Cranford.

The ceremony was performed by the' Rev. Don Ivan Patch, pastor of the church, assisted by the Rev. Harley Kline, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Maywood, cousin of the bride. A reception followed in the Congregational Parish House and the couple departed for a wedding trip to Cape Cod and the New England States. Upon their return they will make their home in Clinton Plainfleld.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a white tulle gown with a tight bodice and a full skirt with a long train. Her illusion veil of fingertip length was attached to a coronet of orange blossoms and she carried a cascade bouquet of white sweet peas and gardenias. Miss Doris Mahan, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Mrs. Sherwood A. Schaub of Carlton Rd.

was matron of honor. They were gowned in pink lace and net costumes similar to that of the bride and wore shoulder length veils trimmed with sweet peas. They carried cascade bouquets of lavender and pink mixed flowers. Mrs. Frank Schroeder of Elizabeth and Miss Sigrid Jesperson of Fanwood were bridesmaids.

They wore lavendar gowns similar to those of the matron and maid of honor. Their shoulder length veils falling from a coronet of pink sweet-peas. They carried bouquets of pink and lavender in a cascaded shape with small yellow roses. William Kern of Elizabeth was best man and Alvin C. Jenkins, brother of the bridegroom, and Henry Morris, a brother-in-law, ushered.

For traveling Mrs. Jenkins wore a dusty pink suit with British tan accessories. She is a graduate of Cranford High School and attended secretarial school. Mr. Jenkins is organist at the Westfield Congregational Church and is accompanist for the Westfield and Plainfleld Glee Clubs.
