Stephen Plein, a 6-foot-6, 240-pound tight end, transferred to Fort Myers High in January. On Friday, before playing a varsity game for the Green Wave, the senior-to-be secured his college destination, verbally committing to the University of Miami "I think Stephen's definitely got the ability to be a special player," said Fort Myers coach Sam Sirianni Jr, who had the opportunity to see Plein in action this spring. "I think his best football is ahead of him." Sirianni said Plein grew up in Fort Myers before moving to Georgia when he was 8 years old. He attended Sequoyah High in Canton, before transferring to Fort Myers.

Last season, he caught nine passes for 160 yards and one touchdowa Plein did not return a telephone call Friday. "It's kind of a front," he grinned. "You've got to look the caveman-ish part You've got to have muscle bounds and tattoos and be able to think on the back end and have a little wit.

If will take you a long way because people underestimate you." Grigsby, 26, looks like he lives in the weight room. The tattoo on his left arm XLVI represents his uniform number (46). The one on his right arm spells out "power, strength" and "valor" in Hebrew. "I got (the tattoo) when I was in high school, when everybody was getting that barbed wire," he said. Tm kinda very blue-collar, but I really didn't want the barbed wire.

I thought I should just put trashy' around my arm if I got the barbed wire, so Muscles and tattoos aside, Grigsby is notable for his pursuit of learning. He has spent the past two years taking advantage of the NFL Business Management and Entrepreneurial Program, whereby players get to spend time at some of the most prestigious business schools in the country. Grigsby attended the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 2007 and recently went to the Harvard Business SchooL Next year, he plans to go to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. After completing each course, he receives a certificate that he plans to put to use once his playing days are over. Tm going to put them very bold on the resume some day," Grigsby said.

"I'll make sure I increase the font by a couple (sizes), bold it maybe, and italicize it and underline it to make sure everyone knows I went to all them business schools." What kind of business does Grigsby see himself in some day? "Number crunching really isn't my thing," he said, smiling. "I see myself as more of a marketingsalesman guy. That was my major in college (at Illinois State). and a minor in economics. I see myself more kind of being out front, shaking hands and kissing babies and spending company money." Before those days come, Grigsby wants to help the Dolphins turn around a 1-15 season either as a standout on special teams or at fullback. "I think Boomer makes it because he is a physical guy and not afraid to do those things," Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said. "This is a guy who runs down the field on kickoff team and has gone through wedges. So I think that he's used to doing some of those things and (that) makes it a little bit easier." The chance to block for running backs such as Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams excites Grigsby.

And while Miami may be coming off the worst season in franchise history, he expects the team's new regime to bring better results. "I think this is an outstanding system," he said. "I love everything we've done here. I love the way the entire blueprint of the entire foundation's been set here. Tm pretty excited for it You're going to see an entirely new football team."
