Clark Are Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Margaret Waltou. daughter of Mr. and Mre. J. T.

Walton of Cedar Falls to Harold H. Clark of Ames, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. W.

Clark of Liscomb which took place Sunday afternoon at 3 o'colck at the bride'i home. The Rev. J. K. Drake read the service in the presence of 50 relatives and friends of the couple.

Mies Lillian Dresser played (he wedding marches and Fred Mitchell, uncle of the bride sang. "Dawn," and "1 Love You Truly." preceding the service. The bride was charming in an ankle length gown of white organ- ily with blue accessories. She wore shoulder corsage of Klllarney roses, delphiniums and sweet peas. Her bridesmaid, Miss Cena Olmstead of Cedar Falls wore blue crepe and a corsage of Talisman roses and delphium.

Kenneth Blake of Marshalltown served as best man. A reception was held after the service. The bride is a graduate of the Cedar Falls high school and Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Kails. She taught in West Waterloo schools and the past year at Liscomb. The groom was graduated from the Liscomb high school and attended Coyne Electrical school in Chicago.

He is now connected with i.be maintenance department of the local branch of the Northwestern Bell Telephone company. Mr. and Mrs. Clark are at home In an apartment at 115 Elm street. Attending the ceremony from Ames was Mrs.

Jessie Farr. At Shower Party Mrs. W. J. Sebllck entertained at a most delightful evening party and miscellaneous shower Thursday at her home honoring Mrs.

A. U.

W. which will be held in Los Angeles at the Ambassador hotel June 24 to 29. At this time university women will consider questions of national and international importance under the general theme "The Role of University Women as Makers of Social History." The i a division includes branches in Ames, Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, Charles City, Des Moines, Falrfield, Ackley, indianola Iowa City, Keokuk, Marshalltown, Mason City, Mt. Ayr, Mt. Vernon, Muscatins, Rockford, Shenandoah, Sioux City, Storm Lake, Tipton, Waterloo, Waverly and Davenport.

Mrs. A. H. Fuller of Ames, state president, will serve as the official delegate for the state at the convention in Los Angeles. Miss Marguerite Blough, president of the Waterloo branch, will be the second voting delegate.

Other Iowa women attending the convention will be Miss Elizabeth Puller of Ames, Miss Hazel Quick of Des Moines, Miss Marie Wool- urns of Fuirfield, Miss Elizabeth Graves of Mason Mss Bertha Gilbertson Of pity, and Miss Helen Coombs and Mrs. Alice M. Arthur Arent is a house guest at the John W. Lee home. Wayne Hill has secured work for the summer with the Parsons college in interesting students to attend there. HP is working the southeastern part of the state at present. Lew Larson of Slater was in town spending a few days visiting relatives and friends the first of the week.

is- "UNDER PAMPAS HAS A new character, a new locale and three new song numbers will be introduced to the screen when "Under the Pampas Moon," comes Sunday to the Capitol theater, for a two day run. Advance reports hail Warner Baxter in a role more romantic than his famous "Cisco of an Argentine gaucho, the picturesque cowboy of South America in whose veins flow a mixture of Spanish and Indian blood and whose habits are crossed between those of a raiding bandit and a plainsman. Ketti Gallian, the French stage star, who was greatly acclaimed for her recent American screen debut in "Marie Galante." co-stars with Baxter. The background is the Argentine Pampas, where the gauchos live a colorful and romantic life. Lew Pollock and Paul Webster, whose "Two Cigarettes in the Dark" swept the country last year, prepared song numbers for the production, some of which are sung by Warner Baxter and Ketti Gallian.

How They Broke Into the Movies n.

wt I SALLY EILERS Sally Eilers broke into the movies at lunch. Altho born in New York she had moved with her parents to Los Angeles when a little girl, she graduated from Fairfax high school in- 1927. Like most youngsters living in proximity to Hollywood, she had dreamed of some day appearing on the screen. After her graduation in the summer of 1927 she began visiting the casting offices of the various studios where her piquant beauty won attracted attention. Her chance, however, came in an unexpected fashion.

Lunching one day at the Fox studio with Lloyd Pantages, she was introduced to director Howard Hawks who asked her to make a screen test. The test was very good and she was given a picture role in support of Charles Farrell and Virginia Valli. Her work in this part attracted attention and her next screen assignment was the co- Mlss Eilers is the waitress who leaves the life she loves at the frantic plea of a grief-stricken man and who pose? as his daughter to save his dying wife. At first, she is unhappy in her new environment and tries desperately to go back to her old life. But a woman's happiness is at stake and she finally agrees to continue the deception.

She falls in love with a young man of wealth and played by Ray Milland. and he wants her to marry him. But the specter of her past comes up to haunt her and prevents the union. Then her former sweetheart, a taxi-driver, played by Chick Chand- starring leao with Matty Kemp in "The Goodby Kiss" for Mack Sennett. That very year she was elected a Wampas Baby Star with Lupe Velez, Alice Day, Lina Basquette and others.

After playing thru 1929 for MGM, Warner Brothers, Universal and Pathe in various assignments, she was given a one year contract by MGM. Later she acted with Buster Keatou in "Parlor, Bedroom and Bath," and with Marie Dress- hr and Polly Moran in "Reducing." She went to Fox Films to play the lead with Spencer Tracy in "Quick Millions." A long term contract resulted from her work in that part. She followed it up by her sensational success in the title role of "Bad Girl," "Hat Check Girl," "Second Hand Wife." "Made on Broadway." Central Airport" and "Sailor's Luck." While on her way to England to make "Morning After" for British International in 1933, she met movie director, Harry Joe Brown. They fell in love, were married on their return from England to California. Since her marriage.

Miss Eilers has played leads in "Three On a Honeymoon" and "She Made Her Bed." After a five month retirement from screen activities she became a Universal contract player on New Year's day, 1935. Sally Eilers lives with her husband and baby in a Hollywood colonial apartment. Among her most intimate friends are Bebe Daniels and Ben Lyon. She is an expert swimmer, horsewoman, ballroom dancer, golfer and tennis player. She drives a Packard coach, is fond of music and very popular among the younger actresses of the screen.

She is five feet three inches tall, has dark brown eyes and blonde hair. She weighs 112 pounds. Her full name is Dorothea Sally Eilers. She is the only daughter of he-- parents, Peter and Pauline (Sehoenberger) Eilers. ITS TRUE! The climax of the story comes when she traps the man who had kidnaped the child whose place she has taken, and when Milland discovers her deception. Does he still -want to marry her?
