He was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on February 1, 1928. Buddy was preceded in death by his father, Jennings Bryan Flowers of Tulsa, Oklahoma; mother and stepfather Viola and Robert E. La Moreaux also of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his loving wife of 53 years, Gloria Marie Chastain Flowers, sister-in-law, Mildred Kelley Flowers of Tulsa, Oklahoma and son-in-law, Max Weldon of Bossier City, Edmond Souchon Garrett Louisiana. He is survived by his daughters, Lydia Flowers Weldon of Seabrook, Texas and Sarah Flowers Price and her husband Dr. James Paul Price of Shreveport, Louisiana and his son, Gregg Flowers of Shreveport, Louisiana, his grandchildren, Lea Weldon, Lindsay and Matthew Price, and Adrian and Pete Flowers; his brother, Jack S.

Flowers of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his brother-in-law Merritt B. Chastain, Jr. and wife Virginia Ferguson Chastain of Shreveport, Louisiana; niece, Grayson Chastain Clarke and husband Danny and their children of Shreveport, Louisiana; and nephew, Merritt B. Chastain III and wife Catherine and their children of Houston, Texas. Other survivors include his loyal radio listening audience of the Ark-La-Tex.

Known, as "Buddy" since a very young age, it's a nickname truly fitting a man who never met a stranger and was a friend to many. Buddy's name is synonymous with Big Band Music. His sense of humor and love of the Lord, music and life influenced and inspired not only his family, but many people in the broadcast, sales and musical community. Buddy joined the Merchant Marines in 1944 at the young age of 16. Shortly, thereafter, he returned home to finish high school.

Following graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps. After serving two years, he returned to Tulsa and attended Tulsa University, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, majoring in Journalism and Public Relations. It was at Tulsa University that he met Gloria Marie Chastain. After his marriage to Gloria in April of 1951, Buddy partnered with his father in-law M.B. Chastain, Sr.

as an independent oil producer for many years. Buddy's career covered many aspects of radio from sales to management and programming. In 1967 Buddy, along with Bill Burkey introduced Shreveport to its first FM radio station, then known as KEEL-FM, 93.7. Buddy was a well known singer and actor. He was the Master of Ceremonies for countless local contests and concerts, and performed before virtually every local civic club in Shreveport.

He held principle roles with the Shreveport Civic Opera Association, and the Shreveport Symphony's Opera Repertoire Company. Buddy filled important roles in productions of The Gas Light Players, Shreveport Little Theater and Marjorie Lyons Playhouse at Centenary College. From the 1950's through the 1980's he held the leading roles in South Pacific, The King and Say Darling, Little Mary Sunshine, The Music Man, and Carousel. He also performed at many Outdoor Summer Concerts at the Centenary College outdoor shell with Bill Causey and his orchestra. Buddy served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister at St.

Mark's Episcopal Cathedral. He also was Past President and Honorary Lifetime Member of the ShreveportBossier Advertising Federation, Past President of the Friends of Barnwell Garden and Art Center, Board Member of Prevailing Winds Concert Band, Charter and Founding Member of The Shreveport Power Squadron, Charter Member of the YMCA Indian Guides, and a Local Board Member of the Selective Service. In 1 994 he was recognized as a "Living Legend" at the first annual Beaux Arts Gala benefiting the Wideman Piano Competition of the Shreveport Symphony. A true Patriot, Buddy loved to sing the National Anthem, and was invited to do so publicly on many occasions. One of Buddy's most favorite and inspiring moments was singing the National Anthem to a crowd of 10,000 at a Shreveport Steamer Football Game accompanied by the Southern University March- ing Band.

His love of Big Band music dates back to his high school days when he worked as an announcer at KWON in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. His lengthy career in radio spanned the next six decades. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time Friday, July 29, 2005 at the church prior to the service. Vera was born July 14, 1912 in Blanchard, LA and went to be with her Lord Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at Pilgrim Manor Guest Care in Bossier City. A faithful member of Northwoods Baptist Church until her health failed, she was a member of Ruth Sunday School Class. Vera was a homemaker and member of Eastern Star Blanchard 236.

The family will miss Vera's homemade bread and sharing delight in her flower garden. Her husband, Charlie Harold Stuckey, parents; and grandson, William "Bill" Stuckey, Jr. preceded her in death. Survivors are her sons, William Stuckey and wife, Bessie, Charlie Stuckey and wife, Lynn, Robert Stuckey and wife, Marilyn and John Stuckey and fiancee', Diane Lafitte all of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Mary Futrell and husband, Carl of Mooringsport, LA; sisters, Clydell Williams and Eunice Wright both of Shreveport, LA; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was a Baptist and retired Traffic Engineer for the City of Shreveport. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army earning the rank of Corporal and serving in WWII and The Korean War.

A member of American Society of Safety Engineers and Institute of Transportation Engineers, he was also a member of the West and North Shreveport Lions Clubs, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and B.P.O. Elks. His parents, Hillary and Lillie Kirby Downs, and nephew, Scott Roth, preceded him in death. Survivors are his wife of 51 years, Mary (Jackie) Hamby Downs; sons, David S. Downs and J.

Mrs. Gremillion was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest P. Gremillion; one son, Donald Gremillion; one brother; and four sisters. She is survived by one grandson, Paul Gremillion; one great-grandson, Max Gremillion; two nieces, Marie Stanley and Gracie Hampton; two nephews, W.T. A memorial service celebrating Edmond's life will be held immediately after visitation in the chapel at Osborn Funeral Home.

Father Charles Glorioso will officiate. Edmond graduated from Jesuit High School in Shreveport and then attended Marymount College in Boca Raton, Florida where he pursued the culinary arts. He returned to Shreveport and worked for many well known and highly respected restaurants in the area. He also had his own restaurant, "Edmond's." His unique culinary skills stemmed from a close relationship with his mother, Marie (GiGi) Garrett with whom he often shared recipes and "secret ingredients." Edmond's love of cooking was closely rivaled by his love of fishing. He was a member of The North American Crappie Association and fished in tournaments in this area.

He also provided a fishing guide service to recreational fishermen. Edmond was happiest out on Grand Bayou in his fishing boat. He will be remembered for his unique sense of humor and his heart of gold. People loved him. feared him! Edmond was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Gabrielle Souchon Garrett (Gigi) and his father Dr.

He was a deputy tax assessor for Caddo Parish for over 40 years. After his retirement, he and his wife, Pat, of 33 years, spent their time traveling, gardening and spoiling their beloved dog, V.P. (Very Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Peggy; his wife, Patricia; and brother, George Smith Harrison. He is survived by one son, Ernest Lucky Harrison, and wife, Nikki; one grandson, David Harrison; one nephew, Dr. Ken Harrison and wife, Debbie; sister-in-law, Bemice Harrison; a very special cousin, Frances Brossette and other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Edward Craig Hickman passed away on July 26, 2005, at the Grace Home. He was 83 years old, bom on August 13, 1921. He is survived by his beloved, devoted wife of 60 years, Martha Claire Vann Hickman; two daughters, Claire Vann Hickman Latch and Grace Helen Hickman Wood; two sons-in-law, Edward Cameron Latch and John Beecher Wood; one sister, Margaret Hickman Guyton (Mrs. John T. Guyton); one grandson, Randall Craig Latch; two granddaughters, Catherine Claire Cole (betrothed to Jamie Douglas Boling) and Grace Helen C.

Foster (wife of Russell Lory Foster); one great-granddaughter, Mary Grace Foster: three nephews, John Stephen Guyton, Thomas Hickman Guyton (husband of Brenda Guyton) and Kenneth Leslie Hickman (husband of Paula Hickman); and four nieces, Judith Guyton Pritchett (Mrs. Joe Pritchett), Marilyn Flaitz Andrews (Mrs. Boliver Andrews), Jane Flaitz DeYoung (Mrs. Robert DeYoung) and Anne Hickman Harris (Mrs. Haywood Harris).

Eddie lived in Shreveport all of his life. He graduated from NMMI, Duke University and LSU Law School. He served in WWII, in Italy, as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He was well cared for by a wonderful crew of private, professional health care givers: Deola Scott, Veranetta Davis, Ida Golston, Mary Edwards, Francis Bolden, Shirley Jones, Cynthia Combs, Ruby Gipson and Betty Robinson, each a true angel on this earth, constant blessings to Mr. Hickman and his family.

Many thanks go to the excellent medical care delivered by the Feist-Weiller Cancer Center, especially Drs. Glenn Mills, Jonathan Glass and Shawn Milligan. Pallbearers will be his family members and dear friends: Craig Latch, Russ Foster, Jamie Boling.
