by Rev. Richard Kight Having a Heart When we have an attack with our heart or feel pain in our chest, we go to the doctor real fast. In our reading today we read about a man who had a attack and what was done to heal him. Our devotion today comes from Acts it came to pass that as I made my journey and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from Heaven a great light round about me. And I fell onto the ground and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, why persecutest thou In our reading Saul, who later has a name change to Paul, was on his way to Damascus to have Christians killed because they were worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ.

God struck Saul down and talked to him. God told him who He was and asked him why he was persecuting Him. The moral of this story is that it may take God bringing us to our knees for Him to talk to us. One day we will go through a name change. The name change is from a sinner to a sinner saved by grace! Those of us who know Christ already have gone through this name change.

We did this by repenting, being baptized in a watery grave, being filled with the Holy Spirit, taking up our cross, following Jesus, serving Jesus 100 percent, and then having our names written in the Book of Life. As you read this devotion, listen with an open heart, mind and spirit as Jesus is calling you for the first time or calling you to better serve Him. Jesus is calling you from a life of wasted years to a life truly worth living. Have a great week. Father, thank you for your convicting Spirit.

Help us to know that salvation is a personal thing between you and us. In your name above all others we pray. Amen. Rev. Richard Kight is associate minister at Mt.
