Street Problem Solution For Novato Offered SAN feAFAEL, Oct.

17. Dis trict Attorney Al Bagshaw Monday "solved a problem that has been hanging heavily over th heads of Novato residents for many months how to acquire land to bring roads up to the required county minimum of, 40 feet. Bagshaw said that he would prepare a form to.be used for each undersize street, on which property owners can signify their granting of -an easement to the county. By? widening the roads to 40 feet county maintenance crews can work on them. The county cannot legally maintain any road under that width, it was pointed out.

Prior to Bagshaw's suggestion, Lester Knr.ttei secretary of the Novato Chamber of Commerce asked that the county hire a man to act as liaison between the district attorney and County Engineer Carl Clow in working out -the details of property descrip tion berore- deeding the strips. When Bagshaw told him that only an easement is necessary, he abandoned his plan Knutte said all persons owning property which will be affected are willing to grant the neces-sary easements.
