The victory enabled the Falcons to remain in a contending sport for the league pennant defended by the pace-setting Uhrik Truckers. Falcons Lead, 2 To 0 The Falcons didn't really find the mark with any consistency until the closing minutes of the opening period which ended with the Poles leading 2-0 but the ac curacy continued with several more direct hits in the second stanza as every member of the Falcons' forward line participated in the scoring.

Ronald Kirby sparked the sec ond half splurge with a hat trick within the first 17 minutes of the period. Only a goal by Sieg Wirth saved the Rockets from a shutout. Hard on the scent of the league crown the Falcons gave no mercy once they were able to crack the Baltimore defense Radeslaw Zbi kowski, and Gene started the scoring parade with single tallies at 40 and 42 min utes, respectively, in the opening period. Kirby pushed it to 3 to 0 with five minutes after the restart be fore Wirth accounted for the olc Baltimore tally; then Kirby retaliated with two quick markers to put the Falcons back on the ex press track.
