Young Cyclist Dies In Crash With Automobile A 22-year-old man was crushed to death by his careening motor- cycle after a collision with an auto between Clear Spring Williams- port at Pinesburg Saturday night. Killed instantly was Frederick Ray Bowers of Mercersburg, Two. Miraculously escaping with only cuts 'and bruises was a passenger in the motorcycle, Samuel P. This was the second fatal acci- dent involving motorcycles in this county this year and the fifth traf- fic fatality of 1954. Trooper David Hasenbuhler of the State Police said the motor- cycle, driven by Bowers, came over the knoll of a hill and collided with an oncoming car driven by 17-year- old Jerrymi McCauley of Williams- port, Route Two. The motorcycle was heading toward Pinesburg and the car was proceeding in the direc- tion of Williamsport. The auto, said Trooper buhler, came quickly to a stop and win not badly damaged. The motorcycle was shoved out of control by the impact of the col- lision.

The motorcycle spun off the west side of the road, struck an em- bankment and rolled over on the highway. Bridendolph, riding on the back apparently was thrown free before the motorcycle rolled over.
