J. K. Thurman and other relatives here. MONETT BARBER COMMITS SVIC1DE Luther Hunt, Monott barber drank two ounces of carbolic aci Tuesday morning at the Brondwa Hotel, Monett. It appears (hat no reason has bee assigned for the act, as Mr.

Hunt ap peared to be in good health and spir its on Tuesday morning, except tha he seemed listless. When asked i he was not well, he replied that was alright. Mem'bcrs of his famili said he had seemed quiet and depress' ed the evening before. He is sur vived by" seven children, the oldes being 16 years of age, and by hi mother, three sisters and two broth era. He is said to have been popula and highly respected, being deacon in the Baptist church.

Funeral ser vices were held this afternoon at thi Baptist church of Monett. Mr. Hun was a brother-in-law of Orie Keeton of Neosho, and Mr. Kcaton is in Mo nett at this time. April hundred members of York Rite Masonic bodies of southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas are expected here tomorrow to attend the annual spring ceremonial of Zabud Council No.

25, Royal and Select Masters, which will open tomorrow afternoon. Degrees of the order will be conferred on a class of about fifty candidates. The bulk of the class will come from Springfield, with a few candidates being brought from Fort Smith, Rogers and Fayetteville, Ark. Beginning at 2 o'clock, a business, session will be held, following which 1 the exemplification of degrees will start. The royal master degree will charge of F.

A. The select master degree also will 'be conferred in the afternoon by a team headed by Frank of Springfield, past grand master. The super-excellent master degree will be conferred at 8 o'clock at night. A large 'delegation of Springfield Masons will attend, and delegations from other towns will include representatives of Joplin and Jasper county lodges. Aloha Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, of Monett, will serve dinner at 6 o'clock to the visiting Masons.

Ed Johnston of Joplin, grand captain of the guard; Carl A. Swenson, grand conductor of the council; William Y. Bean, James L. Heckenlively and McAtee, past grand masters. Mrs.

Box and Mrs. Edsell spent the week-end in Kansas City with Mr. Box, who is under medical treatment there, and whose condition is improving. Mrs. Eclsell will be remembered as Miss Nina Box.

Miss Alice Matters will go to Joplin tonight to deliver her ora.tion on "Tithing" before pastors and laymen of the Presbyterian churches of the Carthage presbytery. Miss Matters delivered this oration recently at Sarcoxie, and was the winner of. a contest given by the The orations were to be written on some phase of "Stewardship," and Tithing" was the topic selected by this young orator who is valedictorian of the graduating class of this year Neosho High school.
