Tuesday completed three days of play in the Montana Tennis Open in Billings and returned home with victories in two divisions Dirk Miller No 1 player on I lie University of Montana tennis team the past two years defeated Kim Nelson 6 2 6 3 in the college division Miller is here for the summer as Instructor for novice junior and adult classes In the girls 18s doubles finals Darby oy of Kalispell and Gigi Meinhardt of Billings teamed to defeat Peggy Peach and Becky Yapunclch of Billings 64 2 for the state championship in that event The only other Kalispell player to reach the finals was Lyle Mitchell and he was defeated by Ruby of Great alls 6 2 6 3 i Iler was scheduled to resume tennis classes today he Kalispell Lakers tackle at 292 and Randy Uhde with the powerhouse team of the 278 Pitcher Steve Wood Is next Western Conference tonight at 270 The team batting when they meet Great alls average Is 239 leaders of tbe loop with an 3 record after sweeping a pair from Libby the past two days The Lakers will have their work cut out as they are coming off a humiliating 11 1 loss inflicted by Helena Monday losing record in conference play is surpassed only by Anaconda the cellar intermediate and 100 meter free style for boys 13 14 100 meter freestyle 100 meter breast stroke 100 meter back stroke and 100 meter butterfly for girls 13 and 14 years old Last year KAT swimmers won a third and a fifth place with swimmers in the youngest age of their respective age groups This year these swimmers will be in the same age group but with one more year of racing experience Coach
