The o'd horse that has been in the Stelglemen family ever since it was two years old and is now 33 years o'd, was put on the job of cutting a field of oats wtili three other younger horses, and he'd his own with them, and did not suffer any apparent Inconvenience. The old horse is well kept and the family intends as long as he lives he will be we'l cared for. SURPRISE PARTY. John Touch, of Dea Moines, an Italian, Is in our county Jail, charged with, burglary. Early aat Friday, morning' Jno. Welch, a young man who lives southeast of Albany, wtts awakened by a noise in his house. When he called to ascertain what was the cause of the noise a man ran from the room. He was on his way to Dea Moines, he said, from St. Joseph, and lost his way, and his car went dead on him. The car wm loaded with wfhlakey. which! he said he was taking to Iowa.

John Welch, with the assistance of his father, Frank Welch, attempted to bring the Italian to town, but he resisted, and attacked the boy, and both of- them sustained some scratches In the bout.
