Virginia Duckie Gilbert LINDALE, TEXAS Services for Mrs. Virginia Duckie Gilbert, 64, of Lindale, Texas, formerly of Shreveport, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday In Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Zwolle Cemetery in Zwolle, La.

Mrs. Gilbert died Sunday evening in a Tyler, Texas hospital after a lengthy Illness. She -was a retired Supervisor for LSU Medical Center and a member of the Broadmoor Baptist Church in Shreveport. She is survived by her husband, Paul Gilbert of Lindale; three stepchildren, Stephen Gilbert of Oklahoma City, Okla, John Gilbert of Tyler and Elaine Gilbert of Tulsa, Okla; two sisters, Lois Salter of Zwolle, La. and Ruth Watson of Denton, Texas; four step-grandchildren, one nephew and one niece.

Mrs. Anna Lavada Avers JONESBORO, LA Services for Mrs. Anna Lavada Ayers, 83, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 1, 1989 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro. Officiating will be Dr. Herb Dickerson.

Burial will be in Old Saline Cemetery near Saline, La. Mrs. Ayers died Tuesday, May 30, 1989 at Jackson Parish Hospital in Jonesboro after a short illness. She was a native of Saline and a home-maker. She is survived by one grandson, Steven Ayers of Mlnden; two granddaughters, Kristl Renee Roten of Dubberly, La and Chyrl Avers of Shreveport; two sisters, Verda Blackstock and Arbil Williams both of Jonesboro; one great-grandchild, Kimber Roten.

R. McDonald, 60, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 31, 1989 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Robert Richardson, pastor of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Plain Dealing, assisted by the Rev. Bob Miller, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mansfield La.

Graveside service will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Converse, La. Mr. McDonald died Monday, May 29, 1989 at Schumpert Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born in Mansfield, La.

and Bienville Parish Pratt, Louis E. of Bienville, died Tuesday, services at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Edmonds Funeral Home, burial at Antloch Cemetery. Bossier Parish McDonald, W.R., 60, of Benton, died Monday in Shreveport, services at 11 a.m. today at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel, burial at Oak Grove Cemetery In Converse.

He was retired from Tri-State Oil 8. Tool Co. Caddo Parish Dugan, Chessie Lou Pike, 86, of Shreveport, died Tuesday, graveside servlcesat 11 a.m. Thursday at Forest Park West Cemetery. She was a housewife and a Baptist.

Hampton, Joseph Wade, 90, of Shreveport, died Monday, graveside services at 10 a.m. Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery, arrangements bv Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel. He was a retired locomotive engineer for Kansas City Southern. Tippett, Etoile Morrison, 80, of Shreveport, died Monday, services at 1 p.m. Thursday at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel, burial at Forest Park Cemetery.

She was a retired accountant for Hearne Dry Goods I nc. and was a founding member of Broadmoor Christian Church. Jackson Parish Avers, Anna Lavada, 83, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, services at 10a.m. Thursday at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro, burial at Old Saline Cemetery. She wasa home-maker.

Lafayette Parish Ponder, Charles 64, of Lafayette, a Ruston native, died Monday, services at 10:30 a.m. today at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers, burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston. He worked for Southwest Gas Producing Co. of Monroe before going into private consulting work in Lafayette In 1971. The HAND FAMILY reunion will be held at the Martin Town Hall near Coushatta on Sunday beginning at 10 a.m.

He was a retired employee of Exxon Oil Pipeline Co. and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Magnolia. Smith County, Texas Gilbert, Virginia Duckie, 64, of Lindale, Texas, formerly of Shreveport, died Sunday, services at 10 a.m. today at Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel, burial at Zwolle Cemetery In Zwolle. Charles M. Ponder LAFAYETTE, LA Services for Mr. Charles M. Ponder, 64, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 31, 1989 at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers. Officiating will be the Rev.

Perry R. Sanders. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston, La. officiating will be the Rev.

Robert Magee. Mr. Ponder died Monday, May 29, 1989 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Ruston, the son of Charles M. Ponder, Sr.

and the former Clara Lazarus. He had been a resident of Lafayette since 1970. Mr. Ponder was a 1941 graduate of Ouachita Parish High School and entered in the U.S. Army in 1944.

Serving in the European Theater with the 100th Infantry Division, I Company, 399th BTN. He was discharged in 1946 and graduated in Civil Engineering from Louisiana Tech University in 1954. He worked for Southwest Gas Producing Company of Monroe before going into private consulting work in Lafayette in 1971. He is survived by his wife, Elolse Wisener Ponder of Lafayette; one daughter, Kim Ponder of Tallahassee, Florida; one son, Charles M. Ponder, III of New Orleans, his mother, Mrs.

Charles M. Ponder, of Shreveport; two brothers, Bill Ponder of Shreveport and Jack L. Ponder of West Monroe, Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time Wednesday. The Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, are funeral directors in charge of arrangements.

Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Coleman McDonald and his brother, James Kenneth McDonald. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia Thompson McDonald of Benton, his mother, Mrs. Mary T.

McDonald of Mansfield, two daughters, Fave McDonald McSwain of Beaumont, Texas and Patti J. McDonald of Orlando, two brothers, Lovd (Buddy) McDonald of Mansfield, La. and Malcolm LeMovne McDonald of Natchitoches, La; grandchildren, Jason Knox and Shannon McSwain; 11 nieces and 2 nephews. FRANCES TODD Services Pending Mrs. Etoile Morrison Tippett SHREVEPORT Services for Mrs. Etoile Morrison Tippett, 80, will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 1989 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. George Latimer, pastor of Broadmoor Christian Church.

Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 12 noon 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs.

Tippett died Monday, May 29, 1989 at Schumpert Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born in Timpson, Texas and had been a Shreveport resident for 65 years. Mrs. Tippett was a retired Accountant for Hearne Dry Goods, Inc. She was also founding member of Broadmoor Christian Church, a member of the Broadmoor Christian Church Choir and a former member of the Central Christian Church Choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Cutliff Tippett; two step-sons, James Lee Tippett and Jack W. Tippett; one stepdaughter, Gladys P. Tippett. She is survived by one stepdaughter, Mildred G. Tippett of Shreveport; daughters-in-law, Viola Tippett and Inez Tippett both of Shreveport; two sisters, Helen Bird of Llano, Texas and Lois Scott of Carthage, Texas; one brother, E.

B. Morrison, of Carthage, Texas; brother-in-law, LeRoy Tippett of Magnolia, Ark; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be great-grandsons: Keith Dillard, Breck Dillard, Steve Gay and Curt Gay; grand nephews, A. J. Tippett, IV and Donald Tippett.

Honorary Pallbearers will be George M. Hearne, III and John H. Hearne. Joseph Wade Hampton SHREVEPORT Mr. Joseph Wade Hampton, a resident of the Glen Retirement Village, died in he Highland Hospital, May 29, 1989.

Born October 28, 1898, in Argenta, Arkansas, Mr. Hampton was the son of Wade Emerson Hampton and Emma Savage Hampton. He was graduated from the Wentworth Military Academy, Lexington, Missouri, in 1921. At Wentworth he was an all-around athlete, excelling in boxing and track. A Kansas City Southern locomotive engineer for many years, he retired in 1968 as K.C.S.

General Chairman, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He was a member of the Noel Memorial United Methodist Church, W. H. Booth Lodge No. 380, El Karubah Temple, York Rite Masonry.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Wilking Hampton; daughter, Eva Nell Hampton Clark and son-in-law, Dr. Charles C. Clark of Shreveport; daughter, Charlie Hampton Kadota and son-in-law, Dr. T. T.

Kadota of Maplewood, New Jersey; son, Joseph W. Hampton, daughter-in-law, Corrine Hampton, and grandson, Christopher Hampton of Conroe, Texas. Visitation will be at the Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel, Wednesday, May 31, 1989. Graveside services will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery, 10 a.m., Thursday, June 1, Dr. Benedict Galloway, Associate Minister, Broadmoor United Methodist Church, officiating.

Pallbearers will be Dr. W. C. Wilkins, Robert B. Clark, William C.

Clark, Ralph C. Liming, James H. Long and Donald P. Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Drs.

Jack Cotlar and Jerome S. Snyder.
