(O il CD I 1 CD TO IKJ CLUB PROFILE GROUP: Gulf Coast Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild PURPOSE: An non-profit organization whose main purpose is an educational and cultural development through participation in and encouragement of interest in the art of needlepoint.

The Gulf Coast Chapter has been meeting in Bonita for several years. NUMBER OF MEMBERS: 40, attendance depends upon season. New members are welcome. Call 992-8248. MEETING TIMES: Second Friday of each month, during season. The next meeting will be Nov. 11, the group will work on a "pulled thread angel" on 14-count canvas. Many times kits must be ordered prior to class.

Participants should bring work basket and project each month. FEES: National dues $23; local $20 annually. Membership includes a semi-monthly guild magazine, called "Needle Pointers." OTHER: ANG defines needlepoint as any counted or free stitchery worked by hand with a threaded needle on a readily countable woven ground. The guild was incorporated in 1972 and nationally has more than 8000 members. ANG offers education through correspondence courses, audio-visual programs, national seminars and both teacher and judging certification programs.
