Lee Skaggs and son, Eldridge, of Wentworth spent Sunday here with relatives. Thirteen of our business men and farmers attended a "farm to market" road meeting at Neck City, Monday. Mr. and John the birthday dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs.

Lemuel Douthitt, Sunday. Several from here attended the funeral services of Rev. H. Pinkston, which were held at Verona, Monday afternoon. Mr.

Pinkerton was pastor of the Rltchey Presbyterian church for a number of who visited your school in company with your county superintendent. I am placing, the school on the second class list with 12 1-4 units approved. I note from the report that you havo made a number of improvements especially in the rural schools. I am pleased to note that you have raised the standing of the school since last year. Schach) On Thursday night, April llth, Glen Harris was given a surprise by sixty-odd guests, the occasion being his 19th birthday. The young folks gathered secretly, taking him from bed after he had retired. Games and refreshments were enjoyed at a late hour the guests departed, wishing him many happy years to come. Veda Moore was taken to the St. John's hospital at Joplln Saturday where he was operated on for appendicitis.

Hp Is improving his bed- Mlss Thelma Sutton. Wherever the pathwey of teaching leads her, this district wishes her success. Dr. Vincerit, accompanied by Dr. J.

J. Barnett of Joplln, motored to Louisville, on the 7th to attend the home coming meeting of the Louisville Dental College and returned home Saturday 13th. Mr. and Mrs, Bert Ball gave a party to the young folks of the district Tuesday night. Some 30 guests enjoyed the games and refreshments that were served by the host and hostess.

Mrs. Leonard Abbott was given a surprise supper Friday 12th, by many friends, the occasion being her 39th birthday. After an enjoyable evening the crowd departed wishing her many pleasant years to come. Over 40 guests were present. Mr.

and Mrs. Bert Bull of Plcher visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jess Rawlinson, Saturday night and Sunday. Stewart Haas went to Kansas city this week on a business trip.
