He was a native of Cloutierville. Survivors include his stepmother, Mealer Sanders of Cloutierville; one son, Charles Earl Murphy of Alexandria; four daughters, Charlotte Ann Murphy of Arkansas, Linda Murphy and Faye Murphy, both of Alexandria, and Tammie Murphy of Houston, Texas; four brothers, Calvin Murphy of Chicago, III, Larry Murphy and David Murphy, both of Houston, Texas, and John Murphy of Natchitoches; four sisters, Clordia Collins of Houston, Texas, Gloria Heard of Chicago, 111., Annie Smith of Ruston, and Ella Murphy of Crystal Texas and five grandchildren.

William Green officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. Ms. Ober, 77, of Oakdale died at 9:45 a.m. Monday in her residence.

She was a first lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II, having served in the Southwest Pacific Theatre. She was a retired registered nurse. Survivors include two sisters, Ear-nestee Ober Caldwell of Baton Rouge and Floy E. Ober Wilson of Lake Charles. Friends may call from 5 p.m.

until 9 p.m. today, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Beuford Eugene Paul BENTLEY Services for Beuford Eugene Paul will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bentley United Pentecostal Church with the Revs.

Leland Briggs, Anthony Mangun, Ellis Maxwell Bruce Maxwell Mark Briggs, Douglas Belgard and Volley Belgard officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery under direction of Hixson Pineville. Paul 63, of Pollock died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday in Rapides General Hospital Alexandria. He was a retired office manager for E-Z Serve Oil Co.

Alexandria, and previously worked 35 years for Petron Inc. He was a member of Bentley United Pentecostal Church and a native of Concordia Parish. He was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the second armored division in the European Theater. He was secretarytreasurer of Springhill Waterworks. Survivors include his wife, Margie Labat Paul of Pollock; three daughters, Ann Paul Belgard of Deville, Diane Paul Sant of Pollock and Dana Paul McGee of Boyce; two brothers, Leslie Paul of Alexandria and Edwin "Bud" Paul of Pineville; and six grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until noon Wednesday in the funeral home, and after 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church.

Sunday in Humana Hospital Oakdale. He was a retired electrician and a World War II veteran. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3687, Oakdale. Survivors include two brothers, Edgar Johnson of Oakdale and Ivy Johnson of Baton Rouge; and one sister, Isabelle Holman of Joshua, Texas.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Jennings, under direction of Ardoin, Kinder. Mrs. Lawrence, 86, of Fenton died at 6 p.m. Sunday in Allen Parish Hospital Kinder. She was a native of Neosho, Mo.

She was a lifelong resident of the Fenton area. Survivors include one son, Michael W. Lawrence of Fenton; two daughters, Betty Ann Miller of West Lake and Martha Rose Langley of Fenton; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Hazel McCullen DERIDDER Services for Hazel McCullen will be at 10 a.m. today in the chapel of Hixson with the Rev.

Roy Lee Johnson officiating. Burial will be Beauregard Cemetery. Mrs. McCullen, 83, of DeRidder died at 10 a.m. Sunday in her residence.

She was a native of Atlanta. She had lived in DeRidder for 30 years. She was a housewife. Survivors include one brother, Ernest Gunter of Alexandria; and one sister, Rachel G. Brown of Atlanta, Ga.

Mrs. McDuff, 86, of Olla died at 12:03 p.m. Saturday in Glenwood gional Medical Center, West Monroe. Survivors include two sons, Preston McDuff of Rocky Branch and Virgil McDuff of Dallas, Texas; four daughters, Merle Simon of Lafayette, Madge James of McComb, Betty McCartney of Olla and Peggy Smith of Eureka, two brothers, Martin Wall of Marshall Texas, and R.D. He was a retired Air Force veteran and a native of Greenville, Mich. Survivors include her husband, H. P. "Pete" Bittner of Alexandria; two daughters, Beckie Wilson and Donna Bittner, both of Alexandria; two brothers, Art Nichols of Baton Rouge and David Nichols of Lake Charles; her mother, Estelle Hudson of Tioga; and one granddaughter. James M. Evans WINNFIELD Services for James Minard Evans will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Southern with the Rev. Durhal Davis officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.

Evans, 54, of Winnfield died at 4:30 p.m. Monday in Willis-Knighten Hospital, Shreveport. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Laurel Heights Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Judy Skains Evans of Winnfield; two daughters, Susan Rene Evans and Deanna Lynn Evans, both of Winnfield; one brother, Richard L.

Leonard Free and Carl Barnard officiating. Burial will be in Frazier Cemetery under direction of Hixson Pineville. Gates, 79, of Dry Prong died at 12:50 p.m. Monday in Rapides General Hospital. He had been associate pastor of New Prospect Baptist Church since his retirement.

He served as pastor for several Baptist churches throughout Louisiana. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and a native of Dry Prong. Survivors include his wife, Myrtie Gates of Dry Prong; one son, Glen Gates of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Odell Gates of Dry Prong and Nelson Gates of Groves, Texas; two sisters, Una Lanier of Dry Prong and Georgie Mott of Tyler, Texas; and one grandchild. James H. Grossie CARENCRO Military services for Retired Master Sgt. James H. Grossie will be in St. Peter Catholic Church under direction of Melancon.

Time of rosary recitation and funeral mass will be announced later. Grossie, 65, of Alexandria died at 12:35 p.m. Monday In England Air Force Base Hospital. He retired from the Air Force with 26 years of service. During World War II he served in the Asiatic Pacific, New Guinea and the Philippines.

He was in the Occupational Army in Europe and served in the Korean conflict. He was a native of Lafayette. Survivors include his wife, Coralie Arceneaux Grossie of Alexandria; one daughter, Sharon G.
