This is a truly horrendous remake of the mildly successful i960 film about col lege students on the lose in Fort Lauderdale, during spring va cation and what happens to several of them. Starring are Lisa Hartman Russell Todd and Lorna Luft, none of which leave the least impression in this idiotic and pandering vehicle.

This is a free-wheeling adventure fantasy in the mold of Raiders of the Lost Ark, and it's quite a bit of fun as a romance writer and a reluctant hero get caught up in the chase for a hidden treasure. It pokes affectionate fun at the genre. Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas co-star.

(PG: mud violence. South Park Cinema and Shreve City Twin Cinemas) Sixteen Candles. This comedy is about a girl trials and tribulations centered around her 16th birthday. It stars Molly Ringwald, Paul Dooley, Carlin Glynn, Anthony Michael Hall and Justin Henry. (PG.

St. Vincent 6 Theatres and Bossier 6 Theatres) Splash. Ron Howard of Happy Days directs this new comedy about a young businessman who falls into the ocean one day and falls in love with a mermaid. It's an effective film with good performances from Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah. It's also through Sunday.

4747 Creswell. PIONEER HERITAGE CENTER. This living museum consists of the Caspiana House, a detached kitchen, a log dogtrot house, a doctor's office, and a commissary. It depicts North Louisiana heritage. It is open Sundays from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

A good cast gets wasted. Drew Barrymore (E.T.) stars as the little girl. Others in the cast are David Keith, George C. Scott, Louise Fletcher, Moses Gunn and Freddie Jones. (R: violence, language.

St. Vincent 6 Theatres and Bossier 6 Theatres) Footloose. This dance film is sometimes being called "the male answer to'Flashdance." It's about what happens when dancing is outlawed in a town. Kevin Bacon, notable for Diner, stars in a ouite 'likable performance. The film is fluff but well-executed by director Herbert Ross, and the dancing is energetic.

(PG: language, brief nudity. Quail Creek Cinema Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. At least this violent horror series says this is the last one. Again, young people are terrorized by a murderer who can't seem to stay dead. (R.
