Saturday in Huey P. Long Memorial Hospital. Survivors include five grandchildren. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Filce J. Desselle COTTONPORT Services for Filce J. Desselle of Cottonport will be at 11 a.m. today in St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church with Monsignor Russell Ritchie officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery No. 2 under direction of Escude. Desselle, 80, died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday in his home. Survivors include his wife, Ledia Mayeaux Desselle of Cottonport; one daughter, Hazel Ducote of Cottonport; one sister, Daisy Guillot of Baton Rouge; two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.

Norma T. Garlington MONROE Services for Norma Sue Thompson Garlington, 51, of West Monroe will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the chapel of Hixson Bros. with the Revs. James S.

Mitchell and Lawrence King officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in 1 Frazier Cemetery, Bentley, with the Rev. Homer Bryan officiating. Mrs.

Garlington died Monday in Glenwood Regional Hospital, West Monroe. She was a native of Winn Parish. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Leonard O. Garlington of West Monroe; three sons, Gregory C.

Garlington, Paul D. Garlington and Douglas O. Garlington, all of West Monroe: one daughter, Brenda G. Begley of West Monroe; one brother, James R. Thompson of Alexandria; one sister, Marlene Meredith of Columbia; and two children.

Jim A. Hudson BALL Services for Jim A. Hudson, 85, of Ball will be at 2 p.m. today in Ball Pentecostal Church with the Revs. R.W.

Coody and Carl Wheatley officiating. Burial will be in Belah Cemetery, Jena, under direction of Rush, Pineville. Hudson died at 12:11 a.m. Tuesday in Rapides General Hospital. He was a member of Ball Pentecostal Church and was retired from Pinecrest State School where he was a barber.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Klines Hudson of Ball; one son, J.D. Hudson of Jena; one stepson, Gerald Fisher of Ball; two daughters, Mary E. Foster of Ball and Clotile Walker of Jena; one brother, Esbon Hudson of Jena; one sister, Brazzie Morris of Pollock; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren. Death Services Held Tuesday For Passman's Wife MONROE (UPI) Services were held Tuesday for Willie Lenora Bateman Passman, wife of former Rep. Otto Passman, who served in Congress for 30 years. Mrs. Passman, 83, died Monday at her home after a long illness. The Franklinton, native had lived in Monroe for the past 55 years.

She was a former Washington Parish school teacher. "She was always deeply interested in Christian endeavors and in education," Passman said. "She was teaching school when we were married some 63 years ago." Burial at Memorial Park Cemetery followed services at Mulhearn Funeral Home. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Good Shepherd. Molette, 45, died at 2 a.m. Sunday in Huey P. Long Memorial Hospital, Pineville.

He was a Gulf Oil service station attendant. Survivors include his wife, Rosie M. Molette of Pineville; one son, James D. Molette of Pineville; six daughters, Wanda J. Lyons, Debra A.

Nelson, Brenda F. Molette, Mechile Molette, Denise Molette and Felicia D. Molette, all of Pineville; his parents, Lem Molette Sr. and Helen Molette, both of Alexandria; two brothers, James Molette and David Molette, both of Chicago; eight sisters, Joyce Flowers, Maxine Mitchel, Lucille Lair, Eddie Lee Smith, Hattie Molette, Shirley Molette and Ester Molette, all of Alexandria, and Nona M. Jewel M. O'Neal Jewel Martin O'Neal, 79, of Montgomery died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Rapides General Hos- pital. She was a homemaker. Survivors include three sons, Lonnie O'Neal Jr.

of Montgomery, Ralph E. O'Neal of Sulphur and Robert Ernie O'Neal of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Barbara Nugent of Houston, Catherine D. Williams of Grand Chenier and Alice Faye Harrison of Richland, one sister, Eunice Bufkin of Converse: 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Stevens The Rev. Claude Carroll Stevens, 65, of Pineville died at 10 a.m. Sunday in Rapides General Hospi- tal. He retired from Montgomery Assembly of God Church in 1982. He was superintendent for five years of a gospel mission in Cheyenne, and was a minister for 43 years in churches in Colorado, Wyoming and Washington.

He was affiliated with the Assemblies of God district. He was a native of Winnsboro, Texas, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War IL. Survivors include his wife, Norma Olcott' Stevens of Pineville; two sons, David E. Stevens of Deville and Dr.

Claude Stevens of Chicago; two brothers, Morris Stevens of Winnsboro, Texas, and J.W. Stevens of Pensacola, one sister, Margie Brewer of Winnsboro, Texas; and six grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m.' Thursday in the chapel of Hixson Pineville, with the Revs. Cecil Janway, Robert Hearne and James Sewell officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery.

Deaths Elsewhere Beverly Hills Philanthropist John Factor LOS ANGELES (UPI) John Factor, who served a federal prison term for mail fraud and then turned his life around by becoming a noted philanthropist, has died after a lengthy illness. The Beverly Hills philanthropist, who was about 90, was buried Monday at Hollywood Cemetery in a private service attended by about 400 people, including former California Gov.

Edmund Brown and Mayor Tom Bradley. Factor's wife, Rella, was active with him in his charitable work and his many generous contributions to charity organizations earned him a host of awards and tributes. In 1962 he was pardoned by President John Kennedy. Hawaii's Happy Jogger Don Almy HONOLULU (AP). Don Almy, who at age 67 jogged 3,100 miles across the United States after retiring from the Air Force with a heart condition, has died at age 71.

Almy, who died Friday, retired as a colonel in the Air Force in the early 1970s. In 1974 he vowed to reverse his condition with a fitness program and a strict diet. Almy soon shed 50 of his 200 pounds, reduced his blood cholesterol level and blood pressure and was able to toss out the four prescription medicines he had been taking daily. In 1979, Almy and his wife, Camille, undertook the journey across the U.S. mainland.
