(Gene) Knipping restated his determination to obtain funds or road work from Chouteau Township. The ordinances passed were: (1) Qualify the new city for receipts from state sales tax.

For every five cents of sales tax collected by the state in the village, the village will receive three-fourths of a cent. This is to be effective Aug. 1. (2) Require all dogs to have a city license. The ordinance provides a fee schedule of $1 for a male or spayed female dog, and $3 for an unspayed female.

Dogs are required to display the city license tax on a collar. (3) Require weeds, tall grass, etc. to be kept down to one foot in height. A provision in the bill permits the city to cut weeds and charge the expense to the appropriate person if it is necessary. (4) Impose vehicle load limits on village streets.

Vehicles in excess of 10 tons are limited with exceptions to us- the use of Prairie Street for mobile homes and said 12 names were signed to the petition. She also reported 65 automobile stickers have been sold and the village now has some funds. Francis J. Manning, village attorney, said the village is still having difficulties in its incorporation procedure with the office of the secretary of state. tie said the certificate issued this last Tuesday by the state lias an error in it which must be corrected.

Manning said a key point in the document the "south" is omitted and it just reads "Roxana." The attorney said it is apparently just an oversight on the part of a typist in Springfield, and could be corrected quickly. Knipping said South Roxana should receive a benefit equal to a pro rata share of the 1966 taxes paid the township. He calculated the sum as about $3,700.
