Lester White Sr. Lester White Sr, 50. of 1418 Donahue Ferry Road died at 8:45 pm Saturday in Rapides General Hospital He was manager of Mid-State Beverage Co. in Alexandria and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church. Survivors include his wife, Lillian B.

White of Pineville; two sons, Lester White Jr. and Kenneth B. White, both of Pineville; two daughters, Belinda S. Trover of Tennessee and Bomta G. Antie of Morgan City; one brother, Billy Louis White of Logansport; and five grandchildren.

LSUA Slates Late Registration The LSU graduate program conducted on the LSU-Alexandria campus will have late registration during the first week of classes, Jan. 16-11 Registration will be from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm in Room 4 of the Activities building on the LSUA campus. Courses to be offered include: Agronomy 7051 (Advanced Soil Fertility), and EDAF 4400 (School Administration).

Registration will be held Monday through Wednesday for spring semester courses at Louisiana College. Classes start Thursday. Evening students will register from 7 to 7:45 m. Monday in the Guinn Auditorium foyer. New student orientation is scheduled Monday.

The students will register from 10 am to noon Tuesday. Students who are not pre-registered will enroll on Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on their last names. Registration starts at 1 p.m. Tuesday for those whose last names start with E. or G.

At 1:30 pm, Cs and Js will register; at 2 pm. As and Bs; at 2:30 p.m, Ns, Os, Us and Vs; and, at 3:30 p.m, KsandLs. Registration starts at 8 am Wednesday for those with last names starting with and At 8:30 am, Ds and Ts; at 9 am, lis. Ys and Zs; at 9:30 a.m, Rs and Ws; at 10 a Ss and Xs; and, at 10:30 p.m, Ps and Qs. Adult and continuing education students will register Monday to Friday or at their first class meetings.

Pre-registered students can revalidate their I.D.S from 8:30 am to noon and 1 to 4:30 pm Tuesday or Wednesday in Alexandria Hall room 156. New students must be accepted for admission by the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid before they can register for classes. Applications for the spring semester will be processed throughout registration. No student can register or change a course after Jan. 23.

Lutes was sworn in as judge of the 35th District Court Saturday. Lutes begins his courtroom duties Monday.

He replaces Judge W.T. "Brandy" McCain, who retired in November on his 70th birthday. Judge Jeannette Knoll of the Third Circuit Court of Appeal administered the oath of office. Before a packed courtroom, Mrs. Knoll said, "I have had several occasions to work with Billy when I was assistant district attorney (in Avoyelles Parish).

Billy is a man of integrity and legal ability qualities that are needed in a udge." She said Lutes assumes "a great judicial task. The people of Grant Parish are very privileged to have such a man as Billy Lutes to serve as their judge." Donald M. Garrett of Alexandria was interim judge. He was a Hall Summit native. He was a retired accountant and had managed the Royal Cajun Chicken outlet in Sunmesport Survivors include his wife. Hazel Dauzat Cook of Mansura; one brother. Basil Cook of Ingram, Texas; one sister. Mrs.

Long Memorial Hospital from injuries he received in a car accident Tuesday on U.S. Highway 71, about 10 miles south of Colfax. He was a clerk for Big Star Grocery and a native of Portsmouth, Va. Survivors include his wife. Tammy Fredieu Daniels of Colfax; four brothers, Joseph H.

Daniels Jr. of Colfax, Benjamin Daniels of Ferriday, Alton Daniels of Dry Prong and Brent McKinney of Boyce; three sisters, Julia Young-blood of Colfax and Kari McKinney and Jami McKinney, both of Johnson City, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John R. McKinney of Colfax; and his paternal grandmother, Lola McKinney of Garland, Texas.

DeBlieux, 81, of Natchitoches died at 2: 16 p.m. in Natchitoches Parish Hospital. Mrs. DeBlieux was a Bunkie native. She was a charter member of the Service League of Natchitoches and was a member of the Natchitoches Historical Society and the Church of Immaculate Conception.

Survivors include one son, Alvin J. DeBlieux of Natchitoches; one daughter, Ann Anderson of New Orleans; and 10 grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Church of Immaculate Conception with the Rev. John Cunningham officiating.

Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery, Libuse. Thomas died at 8:05 p.m. Friday in Rapides General Hospital. He was a broom maker for the Louisiana Mop and Broom a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, where he was a teacher of the senior adult men's Sunday school class, and was a native of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Dickie Rush Thomas of Libuse; Ann T.

Butler of Alexandria is working part-time for Lavon Farrar and Associates real estate firm after his mid-November retirement from the Kisatchie National Forest. Butler was a realty specialist for the forest lands and minerals staff. His retirement marked the end of a 27-year career in government, 16 of which were with the U.S. Forest Service. A native of LaSalle Parish, Butler grew up near Jena.

After four years of service on the U.S. Navy Destroyer John R. Craig during the Korean conflict, Butler returned to Louisiana to work in the International Paper Co. Kraft mill in SpringhilL While attending Alexandria Business College, Butler worked a short time with the Hodges Livestock Commission before joining the U.S. Postal Service.

After 11 years as a postal clerk, he entered the Forest Service in 1967 as an assistant administrative officer for the Southern Forest Experiment Station. In 1970, Butler became the clerical section head for the Kisatchie forest After four years, he assumed the duties of realty specialist, performing technical research and preparation for the forest's land exchange and rights of way acquisition program.
