All attended the football game at Kansas City Sunday afternoon. The Tagues own a Sports Store in Trenton, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Honken, and Miss Evelyn Moe of Lake Mills visited in the home of Mr.

and Mrs. Roy Johnson at Madison, 8. D. on Saturday. On Sunday they all drove to Chamberlain to visit in the home of a nephew, Mr.

and Mrs. Gordon Johnson, and returned Monday. Miss Moe is spending days this week with the Honkens. Wednesday guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs.

Fred Redenius at Woden on Sunday afternoon. Fred had just returned home from Memorial Hospital in Britt that after-, noon. Services Are Held For Mrs. Elizabeth Kennedy Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Kennedy, 88, of Burt were held Tuesday, October 2 at 2:00 p.m.

at the Burt United Methodist Church, Burial took place in the Buffalo Township Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Loebach, Robert, Wood, Edward Boyken, Charles Curtis, Dr. Jerry Shey and William Hellman. Honorary pallbearers were Rex Austin, Frank Fisher, Edmund Larson, Leslie Braund, Ernest Nauman and Arthur Peterson. Elizabeth Erickson was born August 7, 1885 in Story County, a daughter of Paul and Inger Thompson Erickson.

She married Frank Tienan, who died in 1913, in 1901. She later married William Kennedy, who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of the Methodist Church W.S. C.S., the Titonka V.F.W.

and American Legion Auxiliaries, the Navy Mothers Club, and Gold Star Mother. She is survived by two sons, Frank Tienan of Mason City and Paul Tienan of Burt, and two daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Betty) Nelson of Portland, Ore. and Mrs. Minnie Samuelson of Arvada, Colo.

She was preceded in death by a son, William Kennedy, who lost his life on the Battleship Oklahoma in the attack on Pearl Harbor, and a son, in 1964. The William Kennedy Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars was named after her son. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Mollie Brown of Sioux I Falls, S. nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

A brother, Elmer Erickson, preceded her in death a year ago, Rev. Jansen Assists In Allan's Installation The Rev. and Mrs. John Janssen, Carol, Deborah and Paul, and Mrs. Hiska Jansen of George spent a few days traveling to Port Ewen, N.

Y. for the installation of the Rev. Allan Janssen as pastor of the Reformed Church there. Rev. Janssen brought the message at the morning worship service and assisted in the program of installation with the prayers of grace and intercession.

The trip was made by way of Interstate 80 from Des Moines to Delaware Water Gap in eastern Pennsylvania. The scenery is reported to have been breathtaking and the trees seemed to be ablaze with color through the Pocono Mountain area of Pennsylvania. They also took a trip to Hyde Park, the home of 'the late President Roosevelt. Another item of interest was a trip to the Vanderbilt mansion nearby. It seems beyond bellet to think of the wealth some families have had or even now have, and there is a lavish display of this in the mansion as well as on the grounds.

AUCTION CO. BUFFALO CENTER. IOWA Lois Janssen Is Teaching In Honduras School Lois Janssen, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Johh Janssen, is teaching English as a foreign language in the American School, Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

A recent graduate of Central College, Pella, Lois received her B.A. degree in 1972. She did post work at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and received her master's degree in Linguistics, majoring in Spanish and the teaching of English as a second language. She graduated in August and left for Honduras on Sept. 7.

She traveled by plane from Des Moines to New Orleans and then to Tegucigalpa. Lois received some of her education in Merida, Yucatan, spending the equivalent of a year in that area. She also went to Taiwan for a summer to help in the English teaching program of the Reformed Church in America. Paul DePolster and their daughter, Belinda Carlson returned Monday evening from a three-week visit to England and France where they were house guests of friends in London, While there they toured many of the famous old castles of "Merri' Old England" among them Windsor and Hever Casatles, as well as the infamous Tower of London, Tate Art Gallery, St. Paul's Cathedral, Buckingham Palace and Westminister Abbey. They also visited Stratford on Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare, and the famous cottage of Anne Hathaway. A visit to Paris, the "City of included tours of Versailles, a ride to the top of the Eiffel Tower, the Arc De Triumphe, Des Champs Elysees and the Palais Du Louvre. Not all of their time was spent in the musty places of antiquity there were evening strolls through the Pigalle, along the Seine River, the famous show at the Moulin Rouge and several stage plays in London.

To coin an old phrase, all agree, "It's so nice to be hove again!" Paul plans to remain here for another two weeks and then will leave for an extended tour of the Orient. Monday evening visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Boekelman were Mr. and Mrs.

and enjoys visiting our other Blue Earth residents. Monday bingo winners were Stella, Mable, Emma, Edith, Gertie S. and Butch, On Tuesday afternoon we read 'Indian War-Cry" in our reading class. This chapter told of how close the settlers came to an Indian massacre. The war-cries stopped only after the Ossage Indian Chief was able to convince the other tribes to move west.

On Wednesday, the ladies from Immanuel Lutheran Church visited and played bingo with us. Winners were Bertha Sophia, Bertha S. and Following bingo We enjoyed listening to a recording of organ music played by Mrs. Alton Steele of Blue Earth. She came to visit her friends and brought the recording and some of her oil paintings to share with us.

Mr. John Abbas of West Bend is now a resident of the Care Center. John moved to Titonka on Wednesday. "Indians Ride Away" was the story for our Thursday reading. We watched with the Ingalls family as the Indians moved on the west.

Friday bingo winners were Anna, Edith, Maggie, Myra, Ann, Hazel, Stella, Roy, John and Hillie. The October birthday party was given by the Senior Citizens on Saturday. After a nice program, we enjoyed cake and coffee. Residents honored were Ann, Eilert, Etta, Emma, John and Myra. Ellert was honored at an early birthday party.

Though his birthday was not until Monday, his special day was celebrated Sunday so more of his friends and relatives could be present. church services were conducted by Rev. Paul Hansen. Special thank yous are sent this week to Raymond Franzen and Carl Krause. Mr.

James Fritschel, the choir will make Its 4th European tour, visiting Holland Belgium, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway from April 15 thru May 28. Also scheduled are appearances at a homecoming concert, Christmas Carol Buffet forstudents and the public, and a number of weekend trips thru Iowa, Wisconsion and Minnesota. Mary Oesterreicher entertained a group of ladies for an afternoon of "500" in her home On Wednesday. Weekend visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gingrich were Joyce Gingrich of Decorah, and Mr. and Mrs.

Mike Jackowell and Nathan of Other guests on Sunday for a birthday party in honor of Nathan's 1st birthday were Lee Beenken and Mrs. Loyal Gingrich. Kathy Loats of Mason City was a weekend visitor in the home of Mr. and Mrs. "Hap" Peterson.
