MADRID Jaime Fillol of Chile defeated Corrado Bar-azzutti of Italy 6-4, 6-3 and then teamed with Guillermo Vilas of Argentina to beat Hie Nastase of Romania and Artriano Panatta of Italy 6-3, 6-3 in doubles, giving Latin Anierica a 4-3 victory over Europe in the first intercontinental tennis tournament. Golf LOS ANGELES Nancy Lopez fired a one-under-par 71 and moved past Debbie Austin in the late going to score her second straight Ladies Professional Golf Association victory, a one-stroke triumph in the $100,000 Sunstar Classic.

Lopez, who earned $15,000, finished with a 72-hole score of 285, 3 strokes under par on the Rancho Park Golf Course. Bowling GREENSBORO, N.C. Nelson Burton Jr. defeated Jeff Mattingly 204-201 to win the U.S. Open professional bowling championship. Burton averaged 217 for four games to take his 13th champiorship in 17 years on the tour.

To reach the final. Burton defeated Ron Bell 228-198, took Fred Conner 216-193 and defeated Dave Kappel 225-155.
