General Conditions. Pressure has fallen throughout the Eastern States and it has risen along the Northern border from the Great Lakes westward to the Rocky Moun tains.

Last night a disturbance of con siderable intensity was south of Sable Island and moving toward the Grand Banks and the pressure was relatively low in the Far West and Southwest with the center of minimum pressure over Nevada. There have been rains within the last 24 hours in the Great Central Valleys, the region of the Great Lakes, the Gulf States and over the Rocky Mountain Region. An excep tionally heavy rainfall of 8.48 occurred at Fort Worth, Texas, within the last 24 hours. The temperature risen in the At lantic States and on the Pacific coast and it has fallen over the Upper Lake Region. Temperatures are now gen erally near or above the normal in the Eastern States and on the Pacific coast and below normal over the Plain States and the Rocky Mountain Region.

In New England and New York the weather will be unsettled, with possibly local rains today and cloudy and cooler tomorrow. In the Middle Atlantic States the weather will be unsettled and showery today and cloudy tomorrow without material change in temperature. In the South Atlantic and East Gulf States, Tennessee and Kentucky the weather will be mild and unsettled, with local showers and thunderstorms today and tomorrow. In the Upper Ohio Valley and the Lower Lake Region there will be showers today and cloudy weather tomorrow, with lower temperature near the Great Lakes. Winds off the Atlantic Coast: North of Sandy Hook; moderate west to northwest, cloudy Sandy Hook to Hatteras, moderate variable Hatteras to Florida Straits, gentle variable.

Overriding Mayor Broening's opposition, the of Estimates yesterday granted permission to the Standard Oil Company to build a "drive in" gasoline filling station on the site, of the old Key mansion, at the juncture of Fulton and Frederick avenueS and Hollins street. Turner Acquires 75 Acres At Bine Ridge For Cottage Site Development Another improvement is planned for the retail business section of North Charles street, Samuel Feast Sons, florists, 321 North Charles street, have acquired a three-story building at 527 North Charles street from John H. Windfelter arid others through the real estate firm of Philip S. Morgan Inc. The building will be from plans pre pared by Clyde N. and Nelsn Friz, architects, to provide a large showroom on the first floor, with executive and general offices on a mezzanine floor in the rear.

Workrooms will adjoin the showroom and cold rooms for cut flow ers will be in the basement. With a frontage of 27.6 feet, the property extends to Lovegrove alley, providing en trance to the building at the basement level for delivery automobiles. Bids for the work have been received and the contract will be awarded in a few days. Established in 1832, at the northwest corner of Charles and feara-toea streets, the firm is one of the oldest in the city. It will occupy its new quarters' about September 1 and may retain its present quarters at the southwest corner of Charles and Pleasant streets, it is -said.

A three-story frame residence at 3710 Liberty Heights avenue has been acquired by Dr. David Franklin from John J. Buffington. The house improves a lot having a frontage of 90 feet on Liberty Heights avenue and a depth of 315 feet to Egerton road.
