and cILule Til 1010 1010Tills Tills Is a very touching and InstructIve Incident In the life of Christ Tho manifestation of the poor womans womanslove love Is touching In the extreme and the happy way In which Christ used her act to teach the Pharisees an Important lesson displays His wonderful abil ity as a teacher Christ Is being en tertained 1 In the home of a Pharisee A poor woman whose sins He bad pardoned comes with a box of ointment and touchingly anoints Ills feet washes them with tears wipes them with her Lair and kisses them The Phari see complained and In answer Jesus spoke to him a parable In which lie showed that one loved In proportion as he bad been forgiven He then pointed to the great love of the woman as proof of the great debt for which she bad been forgiven We may leans with Simon 1 A lesson on forgiveness This woman had sinned much and yet she was forgiven It Is thus taught that the forgiveness of God can be manifested towartf the very lowest of sinners It was difficult for the Jews to compre bend this fact with all Christs teaching yet after Christs ascension they did not comprehend the fact that the love of God and the forgiveness of God extended to the publicans and sinners And do we fully realize it today Do we not speak of men and women as hopeless thus abridging the pardoning power of God Do we not look askance at a poor wandering sinner who may by chance have dropped into the house of God as much as to say This is no place for your And If one does repent with tears and sorrow are we not slow to recognize him as the child of God The Simons are not all dead Let us learn Christs lesson to them 2 A lesson on love This poor woman loved much because she was much forgiven She was not forgiven because she loved but loved because she was forgiven Do we love much If not may It not be that we do not realize how much we have been forgiven Simon would probably think that Christ put His debt at a high figure and often we do not realize the greatness of Gods forgiveness In forgiving us Is It not true that the best of us have been much forgiven If we think not let us try to see sin as God sees It let us try to realize the enormity of that which separates a soul eternally from God and we cant help but see that we have been much forgiven And being much forgiven we should love much and should confess and manifest our love before men Sweet
