She was a beautician at Central Louisiana State Hospital and was a native of Pollock. She is survived by a son, Marvin James Adams of Pineville; a daughter, Mrs.

Jenny Lark Edwards of Ft. Campbell, two brothers, James L. Walker and C. L. Walker, both of Pineville; her mother, Mrs.

Nettie B. Walker of Pineville; and one grandchild, Lance Bradley Edwards. Friends may call at Hixson Bros. Funeral Home in Pineville after 4 p.m. today.

Funeral services will held in the chapel at 3 p.m. Sunday with Dr. R. Houston Smith officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Ives T. Cargle, 67 Ives Thomas Cargle, 67, of Alexandria died at 3:45 p.m. Friday at Rapides General Hospital. He was a retired logger -contractor and was a native of Provencal. He is survived by a son, Ives Lavern Cargle of Alexandria; two daughters, Mildred Morrow and Mrs.

Evelyn Gypin, both of Alexandria; three brothers, Ernest Cargle and Leon Cargle both of Provencal and Ben Cargle of Houston, and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Hixson Bros. Alexandria. Burial will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens.

of Alexandria, La. Horace Henderson (Special to the Town Talk) FERRIDAY, La. Horace F. Henderson, 77, died Thursday in a hospital here. He was a native of Sumerall, Miss.

and a resident of Ferriday since 1937. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Eula Henderson of Ferriday; a daughter, Mrs. Jeff Cowan of Ferriday; a son, A.L. Henderson of Sumerall; two stepsisters, Mrs.

He was identified as Charles Jones, 51. No details were given in the arrest reports. Deputies also arrested Billy F. Bryant, 20, of 204 Riverside Pineville on a charge of unauthorized use of a movable.

No details were available in that case either. DOG BITE CASE Alexandria police Friday investigated the attack of a child by a stray German shepherd dog. Officers said the child, three- year-old Lisa Gagnard of Rt. 2, Marksville was bitten in the face but they didn't say how serious the wound was. The incident occurred at the home of Sharon Henshaw, 2112 Memorial according to police.

Mrs. Henshaw said the visiting child started to pet the dog when the animal bit her. Police could not find the dog. MISSING PERSON Alexandria police have put out a state-wide missing person report on an 11-year-old Alexandria girl reported missing at 9:51 a.m. Friday.

The girl, Gloria Jean Schanckleford was reported missing by Viola McNeal of 1505 Van according to police. The youngster was described as being a Negro female. She has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a gold colored blouse, brown shorts and no shoes, police said. Adult Drivers Class Scheduled Registration for an adult drivers education class will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the Rapides Parish Skill Center, Fourth and Elliott streets.

The instructor will be Eric White and is open to anyone 18 years of age or older. The fee is $1 and must be paid the night of registration. FLOOD PREVENTION FRANKFURT (UPI) -In- stead of sandbags, engineers here in future will use plastic tubes 100 feet long and filled with water to prevent river flooding. The company will sell memberships at $15 per year per family until June 14. The two present ambulance company in Alexandria, Twin City and Medic, will be compensated by the police jury after Ambulance Service begins operations. The company will be allowed 60 days after the initial 45-day subscription period to become organized for business.

McBride said that the company has not yet decided where it will be based within the city but would make an announcement when the 10- cation is determined. (UPI) A committee of the Texas House voted 12-1 Thursday night to subpoena the motion picture "Deep Throat" for a private showing. The House Intergovernmental Affairs Committee said it needed "Throat" and another movie, "Last Tango in Paris," before it can decide how to vote on a bill allowing cities to rate and censor motion pictures.

Ambulance Service numbers 1,200 calls per moth, according to McBride. The company also plans to locate several substations throughout the parish in addition to the main office in Alexandria. The subscription drive will be extended to the smaller cities and towns within the parish as well as Alexandria-Pineville.

The $15 membership fee will be valid for a 12-month period, which expires on Aug. 1, 1974. It will cover all members of a family: husband, wife, and children living at home but under age 21. A student at school under age 21 would also be considered a family member under the plan. An ambulance call would cost a non-member of the system $45 per non-emergency call, $50 per emergency call, plus an additional charge of $1 per mile beyond city limits of AlexandriaPineville and a $10 fee for use of oxygen.

Should more than one member of a family use the same ambulance, each person will be charged half price, McBride noted. Membership will be available to all residents of Rapides Parish. The concert is the final program in the 1972-73 Festival Fine Arts Series. Miss Betty Wells is choir director and Miss Priscilla Niermann is accompanist. Besides singing in the festival concert, the choir will provide music for the 11 a.m. service at St. James Sunday.

Works to be performed include those of Renaissance, baroque, classical and modern periods, as well as music from the contemporary scene, Miss Wells said. To be sung are such diverse numbers as "Hodie Christus Natus Est" by Monteverdi, "Adoramus te, Christe" by Area Boys Take Arts Fair Places (Special to the Town Talk) NATCHITOCHES, La. Three Central Louisiana youths were among the winners Friday in the third annual Area I Industrial Arts Fair at Northwestern State University. Neville High School won the sweepstakes trophy ip the competition conducted in high school and junior high school divisions. Students in grades seven to 12 participated.

Competition was conducted in 11 categories ineach division. The categories were: mechanical drawing, technical illustration, architectural drawing, architectural models, wood work, metal work, electronics, power, technical writing, group projects and an open division. Rick Bergeron of Alexandria Senior High took second place in mechanical drawing, first year division; Jerry Pharr of Springhill took third place in wood work, first year, and Danny Strickland of Leesville took thrid place in wood work, second year. All projects were constructed or prepared for industrial arts classes and under the supervision of industrial arts instructors. Lasso and those of Bach and Paul Thomas.

The Saints Sixteen group will sing "If," "Charade" and "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" and the mixed chorus will perform "It's a Grand Night for Singing" and similar contemporary music. In addition to providing music for chapel services on campus, the choir sings at Sunday services in several churches of the Dioceses of Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas and Louisiana. Miss Wells is a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Ca. and holds the bachelor of music degree from Oberlin Conservatory, Oberlin, Ohio, and the master's degree from Syracuse University, Syracuse, N.Y. A native of Illinois, Miss Niermann received the bachelor of music from Southern Illinois University and the master's from Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind.

AWARDED DAMAGES LOS ANGELES (UPI) A woman roller derby skater, who said other skaters were ordered to throw her into the stands to provide a thrill for the audience, was awarded $4,000 in damages Tuesday. Ginger Barbarino had sued for $50,000 for her injuries, received in a match between the Red Devils and the Miami Jets at West Palm Beach, Fla.
