William 21 years old, of Keistorstown, was badly scalded on his face and eyes yesterday afternoon when be removed the radiator cap of his automobile and steam and hot water gushed out. He was taken to the University Hospital, where Dr. Condona, resident physician, says his condition is precarious. The contributing cause of Hammond's injuries was the overheating of his automobile engine while driving on the Reisterstown road at Pikesville. It was ia an attempt to relieve this condition that Hammond stopped and removed the radiator cap.

He was taken to the hospital in the motorcar of Joseph W. Clarke, 5100 Denmore avenue.
