Tbe news la highly important and Interesting. The commissioners sent by the allied plenipotentiaries to Mexico with an ultimatum re- turned to Vera Cruz on the evening ot the ult. They report tbat throughout tbe entire journey, both going and coming, they were received with tne greatest courtesy and kind-nets. Ofllcers of all grades vied with each other to do them honor and facilitate their po-grees. Upon their arrival in Mexico, and tbe debvery of the ultimatum, they were Invited by Juarez, minister of the treasury, to a sumptuous banquet, at which every luxury tbat tbe market ol Mexico afforded was produced.

Tteywere treated like princes, and tbe distinguished consideration shown to them was at once interpreted in Mexico as an indication that there would be no war. After due consideration of tbe ultimatum, PreflCent Juarez delivered bis reply, and dis-patehed with the commissioners Sr. Zaaacona, ex-minis Wr of foreign relations, clotoed with full power to treat with the allies as regarded pie iminaties. Tbe reply of Juarez expressed a desire to avoid hostilities. He acknowledged the breach of tbe offered the most satisfactory security for the future.

He pro- Sosed tbat the allied ministers should come to r.zaba and treat there in detail with Mexican commis loners; but he exacted as a nreiimlna- ry condition tbat toe whole expeditionary force should be re-embarked except a euard of honor cf two thousand men, who should accompany the ministers to Orizaba and remain there during tbe negotiations Throughout bis communication be manifested much anxiety to make it appear to the Mexicans that he did not yldd to the armed threats of the allies. Sr. Zamacona submitted this reply to the allies on the 29th, and after several conferences with the Marquis of Castillejos.the purport of which did not transpire, he started immediately on bis return to Mexico. The allies bad concluded tbat tbe condition imposed by Juarez was inadmissible, and their reply, refusing to re-embark tbe troops before treating, left Vera Cruz for Mexico on the 1st Inst. Iu case Juarez should show a disposition to be obstinate In regard to bis condition.

Gen. Prim had decided to advance with bis whole force, opening tbe roads by fighting if he should encounter resistance. He is determined not to expose tbe health of the army to the unfavorable climate of VeraCruz any longer thaui3 necessary. Pabsss at FoitTBices Mob roe foe tsb SorTH.
