He was a member of the Goodwill Beneficial of Reading, Pa. He is survived by one son, Marshall Rothermel of Lillington, N.C.; one daughter, Mrs.

Belle Baumann of North Fort Mvers; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Sharon Menefee of Lowell, and Bonnie Wells of Chesterton, her father, Roy Haddox of Cape Coral; a sister, Mrs. Frank McNeese of Cape Coral; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was a member of the Fort Myers Christian Church. She was a kindergarten teacher at the Caloosa Elementary School, ond a member of the National Education Association, and the National Retired Teachers Association. The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m.

He was retired from supervision after 35 years from Armco Steel Mill of Middletown, Ohio. He was a charter member of Greater Pine Island Lions Club since 1969 of which he served as president and director. He is survived by his wife, Martha W. Barr; two sons, Garlan C. and James William Barr, all of Matlacha; eight grandchildren, and four greatgrandchildren.

That family asks that flowers be omitted ond donations be given to the Greater Pine Island Lions Club. The family will receive friends at Leo W. Engelhardt Funeral Home. Burial will be Tuesday at Coral Ridge Cemetery. RUBY V.

Child dies of rare BOYNTON BEACH (AP) A 15-month-old girl, stricken with a rare blood disease that killed her parents' first-born child two years ago, has died here of the same disease. Little Janessa Davis died in her parents' arms at their home, just as 2'2-year-old Jason did in January 1977, Sandy Davis said Thursday.

Doug Davis, 33, and his wife say they believe God uses suffering to make people stronger. Their only other child, 2'i-year-old Jessica, has survived several attacks of the same illness. The committee voted 9-2 for a proposed committee bill that would allow state-chartered banks to merge with any other bank in Florida, subject to approval by the Department of Banking and Finance. The bill also would allow parent banks to open two new branches a year in counties where they have merged with other banks.

"I'm not wanting to start a gradual encroachment into that area," said Rep. J. Harold Thompson, D-Quincy and an opponent of the bill who said allowing bank mergers could lead to statewide branch banking in the future.
