She is now employed as secretary for De Stigter Bros, of Sioux Center. Jerry is a 1970 graduate of Maurice-Orange City High School and also graduated from the N.I.V.S. carpentry course. He is now employed at the Farmer's Elevator in Maurice. A spring wedding is planned.

Jay Smolley of Clarkfield, Minnesota, were united in marriage in a 2:00 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, July 8th at the St. John Lutheran Church at rural Boyden. The Rev. Otto Iszler was the officiating pastor.

NAMED TO DORDT DEAN'S LIST Three people from the Hull area have been named to the Dean's List at Dordt College for second semester aca- demic achievement. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must have attained a 3.30 or better grade point average for the semester.

They are Sharon Blankespoor, Verlyn De Wit, Karen Westra. Sharon Blankespoor is a 1969 graduate of Western Christian High and was a junior at Dordt this past year. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry G.

Blankespoor, Box 78, Boyden. Verlyn is also a 1969 graduate of Western Christian High and was a junior at Dordt this past year. He is the son of Harold De Wit, Hull. Karen graduated from Dordt this spring and received her B.A. Degree in English.

PETER SIETSTRA ATTENDS MANAGEMENT PREPARATION SESSION Peter Sietstra, Assistant Manager of Farmers Coop Oil Association of Boyden, Iowa, is attending a 3 day management preparation session July 18, 19 and 20 at Farmland Industries School in Kansas City, Missouri. Farmland Industries School is the center of training for employees of local cooperatives from throughout Mid- America.

Students are selected by local managers and sent to the center, where they are trained to better serve the members of the local cooperatives that own Farmland Industries. The school is a modem facility situated on a 24 acre wooded campus about ten miles north of downtown Kansas City. Forty different subjects are taught at the school, involving nearly 2,000 students per year. Instructors for the classes are specialists in feed, fertilizer, petroleum, farm supplies and other product areas from Farmland's headquarters office in Kansas City. This session was one of nine sessions that make up the Management Preparation Program.

The two-day sessions were devoted to aptitude and placement tests, visits with coun- and planning class "schedules for fall quarter.

Tours of departments were slated for students in order that they might become familiar with classroom and laboratory locations. In the evening, students attended fraternity and church orientation programs.
