DECEMBER 19, 1956 Wrapping Wood RiverLegioiiAuxiliary Hears Martin Hartmatm WOOD RIVER Martin riart- mann spoke.at the Monday-evening meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit, 204, at the Legion Mall, demonstrating the art of gift wrapping unusual and creating attractive packages for the holidays. He illustrated the technique of tieing fancy bows, of transforming an ordinary gift box to look like the gift itself, and demonstrated the use of many unusual articles, including colored pipe cleaners to decorate gift packages. The business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Howard Mathus, president, and Mrs. Stella Payne was re-appointed Institutional representative to serve as a contact chairman lor the Girl Scqut troops of the area.

The Auxiliary Unit sponsors the Roxana Scout troop led by Mrs. .1. Campo, and furnishes flags for other troops of the area. Mrs. Fred Penning reported the Past President Parley Christmas dinner served at the Legion Hall Saturday evening was attended by 20 members and their husbands.

Gifts were contributed by group for the Unit. Christmas baskets during the social hour she said. Mrs. Penning was assisted by Mrs. Loyal Palmer and Mrs.
