Curt Siegelin, executive director of the Department of Commerce and Industry, who inaugurated the program as the first such statewide observance honoring the tourist industry three years ago, said he again expects widespread participation in this year's Tourist Appreciation Day.

"We have had a number of inquiries as to the date of Tourist Appreciation Day." Siegelin said, Ul "so we are fixing the date at this time in order to allow communities 1 of the state to tie in other ob-1 fervances with the event."
