STATE PRESIDENT Mrs. Lillian Johnson, of Pontiac, right, was installed Saturday as president of the Illinois State Federation of China Painters. Installing officer was Mrs. Fern Timm, Danville, past president. Mrs.

Johnson heads State China Painters Mrs. Lillian Johnson, 602 W. Grove was installed as president of the Illinois State Federation of China Painters at its seventh annual convention and show held Saturday in Glenview. Two other Pontiac women will be holding offices in this organization for the coming year. Mrs.

Idella Henkel, 521 W. Grove will serve as state treasurer, and Mrs. Carol Taylor, 613 W. Grove will serve as state editor. Also installed at the Glenview convention were Mrs.

Arline Winterland of Lexington as secretary, Mrs. Lorraine Larson of Kempton as corresponding secretary, Mrs. Jonny Kimzey of Peoria as first vice president and Mrs. Sue Johnson Canton as second vice president. The Illinois State Federation of China Painters is part of the World Organization of China Painters.

This organization is made up of china painting guilds in the United States and Canada, as well as in countries of South America, Europe and Australia. The art of china painting is currently experiencing a great revival, and it is fast reaching PUBLIC DINING Tues. and Sun. CLUB SMILO the place it held at the turn of the. century when it was so popular that articles were carried in such magazines as the Ladies Home Companion giving instructions for china painting and even suggested designs for copying.

The Illinois Federation has selected Pontiac as the site of its eighth annual convention and show to be held in the fall of 1974. Previous conventions has been held in Peoria, Canton, Danville, Rock Island and Glenview. Boy struck by car An eight-year old student at Central Grade School was treated at St. James Hospital and released today after he was struck by an auto. According to City Police, David Burgess, 202 N.

Locust ran in front of an auto driven by Terry L. Fosdick, 18, of Flanagan. Police said Fosdick was turning from Howard St. onto N. Main St.

when he was forced to stop by a youth crossing the street. As Fosdick began to accelerate, the Burgess youth ran into the path of the vehicle. The St. Mary's patrol boy at the intersection told authorities he had not given the two youths permission to cross the street. A spokesman at St.

Pontiac man uninjured in accident James R. Anderson, 70, 0 Dixie Lane, escaped injury in a car-semi-trailer truck collision at the intersection of U.S. 66 and Route 116al 1:20 p.m. Monday, but his 1973 Chevrolet sedan sustained $1,000 damage to the a Trooper William L. Spray estimated.

Driver of the truck Phillip A. Verchimak, 19, of Slrcator, was ticketed for disobeying a traffic signal. He also was uninjured. The Anderson car was westbound on 116 crossing 6(i on the green light, according to Trooper Spray. The northbound on 66, failed to stop lor the red light and struck the front end of the car.

The musical program was presented by Cindy Monical, Chris Monical, Roger Amm, Sheila Vicars, Don Semmens, Bonnie Thompson, Mary Murphy and Floy Sparks. Gary Black accompanied the group on the piano. Refreshments were served to the residents of the Home. Gerald Potter, telephone equipment installer for General Telephone Company, completed a four week training course in basic electronics at the company school located in Clinton.

A native of Peoria, he began his telephone career as a cable splicer helper in June, 1966 and was promoted to facilityman in Pontiac in March, 1968. In November of 1972, he was promoted to equipment installer. Potter and his wife, Janet, and their three children, reside at 1517 S. Mill St. Mrs.

Clyde Schneeman hosted 12 members of the South Side Club and one guest, Mrs. Delbert Ruff, at her home Thursday. President Mrs. Floyd Gruber conducted the business meeting. Members discussed places they had visited and read stories and poems.

Mrs. Schneeman served refreshments, assisted by Mrs. Ruff. Mrs. Clarence Corban and Mrs.

Mrs. Hanseman dies; former resident Mrs. Charles Boyd, 513 W. Madison received word today of the death of her cousin, Mrs. Mabel Hanseman, 73, of Whiting, formerly of Pontiac.

Mrs. Hanseman died Monday morning at Christina Hospital in Whiting. She had been ill several months. Friends may call at the Owens Funeral Home in Whiting from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. today and Wednesday.

There will be a service at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, Ind. Born Dec: 12, 11)99, she was married to Harry Hanseman, who was a foreman at Brockton Heel Co.

29, 1917, at Fairbury, he was the son of James Elmo and Clara (Kurd) Young. He grew up and was educated in Pontiac, and also attended Lake Forest Academy and Northwestern University, Evanston. He was employed in advertising by The Leader for several years. He married Louise Herwig at Pontiac in 1947. Surviving are his wife; two children, Barbara Ann and Jeffrey Alan; his mother, of Ponliac, and a brother, Robert, of Park Forest.

His father and a daughter, Linda Susan, preceded him in death. He served with the U.S. Army in World War II and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. The a i suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society. Mr.

Chief Myers has named Oct. 14 through 19 Fire Prevention Week in Pontiac. Firemen will a truck at schools and will distribute coloring books on fire safety to students. Other entries in the poster contest will be displayed at the fire station. First held last year, the contest promotes fire safety among students and their families.
