Baton Rona-e M-" jij; parable of the Bereaved Father, we have the groat message concerning the nelghborliness of himself. If there wore not at the center and soul of this world a neighborly God, there would be little real basis for human nelshhorlinos. The fact that man can be a to his follow men, that, noighuirliness as Jesus proclaimed it is his highest mission and his highest attainment, tolls us something concerning man's origin and man's aspiration the things that bring into his life the creat spiritual reality that we call Cod. TIIU. TKACKDY (IF YOUTH Here in the parable of the I'rodlgal Son, Jesus takes a moving and tragic story In human life, nn old story and a common story that is now, or old, In almost every successive generation.

It is the tragedy of waywardness and wilfulness) that disregards values of human Jove and human life, the tragedy of thoughtlessness and the tragedy of false impulse; that swoop young men and young women away into courses of danger and evil, the reality of which they do not see until the results have become manifest In acute suffering. When their eyes are opened, it. is often too late, or it seems too late. There arc many reflections that one may make upon this parable. There is no need that one should see.

in every respect in the bereaved father the type of the Almighty, or that all tills' father's ncti'mi should be justified as typifying the character of Cod. Jesus does not imply nny such thing in the parable. It Is quite possible that the father was not quite fair toward the elder son.
