A special to the N. O. Picayune, under date of July 5, from Cheney-ville, says: Several families went to attend a fishing party on the Choctaw bayou, distant about fifteen miles. While there a heavy rainfall occurred, which thoroughly wet the entire gathering and broke up the party. On their way home several of them were taken violently ill, and a running drive was made to get the assistance of physicians.

Frank Ford and his two grown daughters, Misses Sallle and Mary; Mrs. Truett, wife of the telephone manager; Robert MeConathy and Early Tanner were seriously ill. It is thought by some that the fish was the cause of their illness. but as all who ate of the fish were not affected, the matter is still in doubt. The drouth at this place is still on, nob enough rain having fallen In the last sixty days to lay the dust.
