Planned April 10 (LTD The V. S. Army Corps of Engineers yesterday announced it will call for bids on April 14 for construction of a $400,000 Army Reserve training center at Camp LeRoy Johnson, New Orleans.

Tlans call for the construction of a Koo-man Army Reserve training center with three-bay vehicle maintenance shop, utilities and paving. Buildings will be brick and concrete unit masonry. Bids will be opened on about May 17, with work to begin within 10 days after bids are let. Work completion is expected to take 313 days. i ti i 1 ment or service changes are planned.

According to studies and tests conducted by telephone scientists, ANC has definite advantages, both present and future, over the system now used, Garner said. ADVANTAGES 'It is easier and faster to dial calls with the new system because there is no need to switch your attention back and forth between If Shreveport will be one of the first communities in the country to switch to the new telephone numbering system called "All-Number-Calling," Public Service Commissioner John J. McKeithen announced yesterday. Selected telephone users in ShrevoMrt and Bossier City will begin using the new ANC numbers on Aug. 21.

McKeithen said all-digit numbers are easier to remember and as a result produce fewer dialing errors. In explaining the reason for the changeover, McKeithen said that the nation is rapidly outgrowing the two-letter, five-digit telephone numbering system used in many communities. "The major contributing factors are the booming population growth causing a great increase in the number of telephones, new telephone services, and the development of new types of telephones and other telephone equipment," McKeithen said.

"Tests have shown, surprisingly enough, that the all-digit numbers are easier to remember and produce fewer dialing errors." Dean Garner, district manager for Southern Bell Telephone Co. here, said the first numbers to be changed to ANC are the same ones that Southern Bell had announced earlier would be changed to the two-letter, five-number system in August. That was a preliminary announcement, he said. "It's not quite lime to say farewell to the L'Niversity, MEIrose and LOcust numbers, however, "Garner said. Subscribers whose numbers now have two letters and live numerals will receive ANC numbers in the near future only when they request changes or rearrangements in their service, he said.

Eventually, all numbers will "He told me that I had ruined his life that he loved me. but I didn't love him, and he was going to kill me," Beverly sobbed. "That's a pack of lies," Kenneth asserted. "Beverly asked Billy to marry her a few weeks ago. "My brother didn't run after her He was a body-builder, a good-looking guy who had all the girls he wanted." Ho said he was certain that his Seminary.

He has served pastor day: eliminates confusion between letters and numbers on the dial. For example, the letter and the figure "zero" are often confused by dialers, and wrong numbers result. It happens with the letter and the figure too. The new system does away with that difficulty," he said. Garner explained that the new system also avoids difficulties in spelling and pronouncing telephone central office names.

"There just aren't any names to cause errors," he said. The compelling reason for the change, however, is that, for the future. ANC will make room for additional growth in the telephone system by providing more usable codes, according to Garner. The number of codes cannot be increased under the present system since the letter combinations which form recognizable names are limited. "With more codes available, people can dial more telephones with a minimum number of digits, and it paves the May for such things as national and international direct distance dialing," he explained.

Garner suggested that customers affected keep the upcoming change in mind when ordering new supplies of stationery, business cards or other printed material carrying their telephone numbers. All-Number-Calling has been successfully used lor the past two years in Wichita Falls, a city of 120,000.
