Pine Bluff Friday Evening The Cotton Ball Friday Night HERB PARSONS Trick Shooting Exhibition HERE'S THE SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES Thursday morning, October 6th, the Blylheville merchants open (heir doors offering special values for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. At 2:30 (hat afternoon, the big downtown parade begins. Thursday evening is the Cotton Pickers Jamboree free street dances, one for whites and one for Negroes. Two bands wili play at I he white's dance, popular and hillbilly—Ted Fisher and his orchestra, and Donald Howard and his Smiling Hillbillies. Howard Yancey and his band will play for the colored dance. The 52500 National Cotton Picking Contest begins at 10 a.m. Friday. An unusual accompanying show will be the mechanical pickers' demonstration. In the afternoon the prncipal speaker will be Chester C. Davis, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. l.ouis. For your entertainment, Herb Parsons will present his trick shooting exhibition and Cowboy Copas, from VVSM's Grand Ole Opry, will put on his show accompanied by Slim Rhodes and his western band. And you'll see models displaying the winning entries in the Clothing From Cotton Bags Contest Style Show. Friday evening Blytheville High School plays Pine Bluff at Haley Field....the kick-off time alxm! 7:30. And then (he big Cotton Ball that night will climax (he activities a dance featuring the music of Johnny Polzin and his Slc.i'mer Admiral Orchestra. But continuing all day Saturday will be the very special values offered by Blytheville merchants.
