FFA Awards At I Fair Every one here were so happy to see Ethel Norman return to her home Sunday. Her son, Orval and his wife are with her. Malenda Harbough of Columbus spent the past week here with her grandmother, Helen Dewey and her aunt, Mrs.

Arthur Nelson. They attended the Jackson County Fair several nights. Mrs. Dora Fleetwood and her sister, Mrs. Dona Combs of near Indianapolis visited one afternoon with Bertha East on.

Mrs. Wayne Hedrick of New White-land and Mrs. Flora Fish of Freetown called Wednesday afternoon on Mrs. Ray Cummings. Mrs.

Dwight Harbough of Columbus, daughter of Helen Dewey, underwent foot surgery last week at the hospital there. She is getting along well. Miss Sherry Curry, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Davis, underwent a tonsilectomy at Bedford Medical Center and is home again.

Harry Davis of Indianapolis spent one day the past week with his brother. Earl and wife here. Mrs. Orlena Cook of Anderson spent Saturday night and Sunday with Bertha East on and daughter Ruth. Sorry to hear that Mrs.

Lloyd White became very ill the past week and was taken to Bedford Medical Center. All wish her a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hedrick and son Terry and wife and two children of New Whiteland called on Mr.

and Mrs. Ray Cummin ps Sundav afternoon. Mrs. Edna Bailey and Madge Williams of Heltonville called Thursday evening ont Mr. and Mrs.

Ray Cummings. Greg and Larry Norman got on their 10-speed bikes Saturday morning and left Columbus at 6 a.m. They arrived in Norman at 10:45 a.m. and are spending this week with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

Horace George. Their grandparents report that they think they made the trip in very good time but arrived a little tired. Mr. and Mrs. Moris Norman and family have returned home after a vacation in Florida and are visiting her parents this week, Mr.

and Mrs. Horace George. Mrs. Horace George has returned home after a week's visit with her brother, Herman and wife in Clinton, N.C. Mr.

Flinn is not so well and all his six sisters were there visiting him. This was the first time they had all been together for ten years. Mrs. Horace George called at Bedford Dunn Hospital Monday morning to see her uncle, Olen Clark, who suffered a stroke Sunday. Mr.

Clark is in his 80s. Mrs. Cecil Cummings called on Mr. and Mrs. Lester Cummings one afternoon during the week.

Donald Blair spent the weekend with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Guy Robison at Scott sburg. Congratulations to Sue and Randy Martin on their entries and ribbons at the county fair. Mrs.

Smith was born and spent her younger years in our community. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Carmichael and family of Indianapolis spent Thursday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Officers said Steven Acton, 20, of Freetown, was driving west on Sixth St. when a tire blew! out, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The car skidded off the road into a soybean field, causing an estimated $1,500 damage to the vehicle. Acton was charged with driving while intoxicated. I take this means of expressing my appreciation and thanks for all the kindness, congratulations and good wishes given me.
