LEE TO BE HONORED . . . Lee County was named for him Gen. Lee to be honored Three days after what would have been his 170th birthday, Robert Edward Lee, the man from whom Lee County takes its name, will be honored with a special memorial service Saturday in Fort Myers. To be held at the Lee Monument on Monroe Street at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, the service is jointly sponsored by the Southwest Florida Historical Society, Col. A.C. Myers Camp (no. 1322) of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans and the Laetitia Ashmore Nutt Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Ernest Hall, president of the Southwest Florida Historical Society will speak and the Rev. Raymond Dage, assistant rector at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, will give the benediction. Floral tributes will be placed at the base of, the monument and military honors will be rendered by Company A, 5th Florida Infantry, of the Confederate States Army, a civil war re-enactment group. 'Roaring Twenties Vaudeville' The Lee County Humane Society says you'll not only have a good time, but you'll be "doing a good deed for the animal population of Lee County" by attending the society's "Authentic Roaring Twenties Vaudeville Review" Saturday at the Fort Myers High School Auditorium. The show, beginning at 8 p.m., will feature Ann Rothchild, the "original Betty Boop," in a series of skits and songs. There'll be magic shows and "other acts of the era" as well. The noted pianist will perform with the full symphony and will perform Chopin's Ballade in A flat major as a piano solo.
