Evans RUBY Evelyn Mildred Evans, 81, of Ruby died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, in Port Huron Hospital unexpectedly. She was born June 3, 1920, in Sandusky to the late Harold and Bessie (Farr) Brown. She married Lawrence E. Evans, Nov.

5, 1938, in Port Huron. He died Nov. 3, 1977. Mrs. Evans was a member of Wadhams Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens.

She loved her family, church and loved to read. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Hurst of North Street; four sons, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence (Ruby) Evans, Mr. and Mrs.

Charles (Kathy) Evans, all of Kimball, Robert Evans and Donald Evans, both of Ruby; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edith Ruthenberg of Texas and Gladys Warner of Fort Gratiot; a brother, David Brown of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Brown and a son-in-law, Richard Hurst. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m.

Monday in Funeral Home. Pollo Rev. Jeff Wallace of Wadhams Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Wadhams Baptist Church.

John 0. "Jack" Christopher Catholic Church or John O. "Jack" Goddard MARYSVILLE John O. "Jack" Goddard, 74, of Marysville died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, in Mercy Hospital.

He was born Sept. 5, 1927, in Detroit, to the late William and Geraldine (Swanson) Goddard. He married Violet L. "Poppy" Baird on Aug. 21, 1948, in Marysville.

Mr. Goddard was employed with Peerless Cement Company for 23 years and Consumers Power for 14 years. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, Marysville American Legion Post 449, Knights of Columbus Council 9526, Moose Lodge Caseville Eagles and was a past Exulted Ruler of B.P.O.E. Lodge He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing cards and spending time at the cottage in Caseville.

He is survived by his wife, Poppy; a son and daughter- 1-law, Mr. and Mrs. Donald (Jeanette) Goddard of Marysville; a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David (Linda) Tokarski of Port Huron; five grandchildren, Chris and Lisa Curtis, D.J., Scott and Matthew Goddard; a great-grandson, Tyler; and a brother, Earl W.

Goddard of Marysville; brother-in-law, Donald Baird of Bad Axe; and several nieces, nephews and cousins including a special niece, Pam Maes. He was preceded in death by a son, John E. Goddard. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Sunday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Rosary will be said by the of at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. An Elks Lodge of Sorrows service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday evening.

Mr. Goddard will lie in state at St. Christopher Catholic Church on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. The Rev.

Arthur Baranowski will officiate. The Rite of Committal will follow at Riverlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Curtis, D.J., Scott and Matthew Goddard, nephews; and special caregivers, Christy and Ken Dixon. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept.

24, 2001, in Faith Lutheran Church. The Rev. Timothy Eichberger, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2.

to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in Smith Family Funeral Home, North, 1525 Hancock St. On Monday, visitation will be at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Pallbearers will be Kenneth, Karl, Jeffrey, Michael, Troy and Brett Warshefski. Expressions of sympathy and memorials can be made to the Faith Lutheran Church Music Department.

Gaston Baeyens COLUMBUS TWP. Gaston Baeyens, 81, of Columbus Township, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 21, 2001. He was born Feb. 13, 1920, in Belguim to Ernest and Marie Baeyens.

On Oct. 31, 1945, Gaston married Madeleine DeSaedeleer in Belgium. Mr. Baeyens was a self-employed cement contractor for 27 years before retiring in 1979. He was a member of All Saints Church in Memphis where he served as a eucharistic minister.

Gaston was a member of the Memphis of and a fourthdegree member of Richmond of Assembly 0480 where he served on the Color Corp. He was a former member of St. Vincent de Paul and formerly served on the Parish Council at Holy Rosary Church, Smiths Creek. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Madeleine; daughters and son-in-law, Godelieve "Lee" Baeyens and Marlene and Loren Brown, all of Columbus Township; and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Scott Brown. He was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Baeyens.

Funeral mass will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at All Saints Church, Memphis. Father Erwin Bauer will officiate. Interment will be in St. Phillips Cemetery, Columbus Township.

Visiting hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 1 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, China Township and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. A Rosary will be said at 2 p.m.

28, 2001. Virginia M. Powell, 65 PORT HURON Virginia M. PORT HURON Mabel Louise Warshefski Barr, 88, of Port Huron went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Sept. 20, 2001.

She was born Oct. 22, 1912, in Wyandotte to the late Albert and Martha Ziesmer. Mabel married Frederick C. Warshefski Dec. 31, 1931, and the couple moved to North Street and made their home in this area.

Fred passed away April 3, 1982. Mabel was a charter member of the Faith Lutheran Church (est. 1956). She was a faithful member of the choir for more than 30 years. She was a devoted Sunday School teacher.

Mabel served on the Fidelis Guild holding many positions including president. She was an active member of the Ladies Womens Missionary League and worked on various church committees during her years. Mabel was a fantastic cook. She retired from her position as head with the Port Huron Area School District in 1974. She was loved by the faculty and students.

Mabel married Robert M. Barr Aug. 16, 1986, in Mio. They spent the winters of their years together at the Sunshine Racetrack in Florida, continuing to harness race their ponies until Bob passed away Dec. 26, 1998.

Mabel was preceded in death son, Frederick Darryl Warshefski (Oct. 17, 1939); three brothers; and two sisters. Mabel will be deeply missed by her four sons, Robert (Karen) Warshefski, Thomas (Betty) Warshefski, Gene (Nancy) Warshefski and Jack Warshefski; and her daughter, Sharon Paris, all of Port Huron; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, Ernie Ziesmer and Elmer Ziesmer; her sisters, Dorothy Toburen and Mildred her sister-in-law, Vera Ziesmer; several nieces and Powell, 65, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001. Survived by children, Michael, Kathleen DeLong, Elizabeth Brown and Sheila Kurzweil.
