Calvary Lutheran WM Installs our New Members at Meeting VERGltKEN (ILNS) our new members of the Cal vary Lutheran Women's Mis sionary ederation (WM) were installed by Mrs Norman Morgen nt a meeting last Thursday Carnation corsages weie presented to Mrs Richard Toft Mrs Erwin Slothaug Mrs Oscar Ingebretson and Mrs Ray Nockleby Officers of the WM the two circles and department sec Adults to Join Bethlehem Church Sunday Members of the adult instruc tion class will lie joining Beth lehem Lutheran Church at the second service on Sunday morning They will join by means of adult baptism and confirmation ami include Mrs Joseph Gnmmai he Evange line Philomen Hamilton Grnyce Marie Justad John Tobias Jr Mrs Dorothy Jean Staf ford Mrs Bonnie Mae Vlrich Hilda Bertine Page Beryl Wini fred Brorby Betty Jo Ann Jy stnd John Hutton Ethel Hut ton Sandra Jean Holst and Selma Mae Ziesmer Others who plan to join the congregation this Sunday by transfer of membership and confession of faith for all who have joined Bethlehem Church since Sept 1 is planned to be held In ihe church basement after the service The reception gives op portunity for members of the congregation to meet the mem bers of the class It will be fol lowed by a baptism service for Tamara Hamilton and fpr Robert Lavern and Rhonda Jean Stafford The public is invited to at tend this special service at Bethlehem The Rev Grimsrud will speak on the theme: "That Our Joy May Be Complete" The congregation is invited to have coffee and cookies which will be served after the 11 am service Women Hear Helen Brown A tradition for the Christ mas meeting and party of Naz arene oreign Missionary So ciety was carried out at the meeting this year when high lights of the life of Mrs Anna Dale were told Miss Helen Brown mission ary for Missionary Alliance Church was speaker at the meeting Miss Brown who has been in Africa is home on fur lough Mrs Allen A Bennett was in charge of the meeting Car ols and devotions were led by Mrs Leonard Marshall Mrs Walter Rexford presided at the gift exchange when secret prayer sisters were disclosed Mrs Hoyt Bird president closed the meeting with pray er A dessert luncheon was serv ed before the meeting by Mrs Andy Christianson and Mrs Leonard Edwards During the luncheon there was a back ground of Christmas music rotaries were Installed by Mrs Man rlt Ekstrimd district WM president WM officers Installed were Mrs Norman Rorgen presi dent Mrs Ernest ngorlnnd vice president Mrs Phil Pet erson secretary and Mrs Wal fred Newgard treasurer Circle officers were Mrs Martin Nelson and Mrs Dan Burge chairman of Ihe eve ning and afternoon circles re spectively Mrs Martin etveit apd Mrs Carl Lasater vice chairman Mrb Joe Adalbert and Mrs Robert Erickson sec retary treasurers An offering was received for the parish house nt Nome Alaska Mrs Ernest ngeiland look charge of the program with the theme "In Tune for Christmas" which included readings and songs Articles for Christmas bas kets for the needy arc to be at church no latter than next Tuesday A potluck lunch preceded the meeting Eureka Ladies Aid To Donate Baskets or Needy amilies EUREKA Members of the Baptist Ladies Aid met at Hie home of Mrs llarles Bcrgctte Dec 10 Mrs Jess Wetzel opened the meeting by lending the group in a hymn Mrs Carl Pershall was in charge of the devotional pro gram presenting scriptures from Matthew and reading an article on Heavenly Music pointing out Hie true Christian meaning of Christmas Mrs Homer Garrison led the group in prayer Roll call was answered with scripture verses according to St Luke Christmas gifls were readied to send to foreign missionaries A report on the funds raised from Hie bazaar was made The group decided to donate a bas ket of food to a needy family for Christmas Mrs Richard Moon present ed a program on Hawaii giv ing a summary of Baptist mis sionary field there Mrs Bur gess Drake dismissed the group with a prayer A salad course lunch was served by Mrs Bes sie Nelson and Mrs' Harles Bergette Junior Group Holds Meeting The 'Bethlehem Lutheran June League held its Christmas meeting Wednesday with' Ann Hehricksen's team in charge Mr and Mrs Alden Beller are adult advisors for this team The meeting opened with sing ing Christmas carols Don Mohn led the group in devo tions Christmas readings were' giv en by Linda Hansen Toft Tuesday Self denial envelopes were given out and are to be brought to the January WM meeting The offerings taken from these envelopes are used for insti tutions supported by Hie chari ties
