The cooperative rebroad-casting firm will have to drop Miami Channel 7 (NBC), now being translated to Channel 70 for rebroadcast to Lee Coun-tians, because that would be duplicating Channel 20 and that isn't allowed, Bishop said. The Leeco equipment will be pooled to bring a better translation of Channel 10, WLBW, to Channel 73 for local viewing. But there isn't any money, Bishop said. "Even the subscribers don't seem to be Interested," he said. Bishop was asked about a rumor that an out-of-town television station might be interested In putting money Into the system.

"I wish somebody would," he said. But no outside firm has shown any interest to date, he said. "Leeco originally was started to bring to the people of Lee County the networks they couldn't get locally," Bishop said. "We will carry on with that concept. By putting our equipment together we think we can bring Channel 10 here better." Leeco asks those watching on UHF to contribute $14 per year each.

Leeco is a nonprofit cooperative, meaning anyone who pays the $20 membership fee becomes a co-owner member.
