Fort Myers (Fla.) News-Press, Dec. 1, 1968 3-A Stars Attend Opening of Studio Here Airlift Set Today To Help Children 1 nr) iCJT' 1 Pi 9 fcV write Pilots who comprise the Experimental Aviation Association plan an airlift today, from 1 p.m. to dark, for the benefit of a Christmas gift fund for the Lee County Children's Home in Page Park. The airlift will provide a seven-minute air tour of Greater Fort Myers at a cost of two cents per passenger pound. Planes will take off from the South West Aviation hangar and the Fort Myers Airways hangar at Page Field.

If the venture is rained out today, it will be held next Sunday. Station WBBH-TV which will operate on Channel 20 here, opened its new building on Central Avenue in Windsor Park for public inspection Saturday. Joseph Buerry president and general manager of the facility, said some 5,000 persons toured through the studios, control room and offices from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The station will be an NBC outlet and two NBC-TV stars, Linda Cristal of "High Chap-' paral" and Tom Kennedy of "You Don't Say" were on hand Saturday to lend glamor to the occasion.

as they can." Towers Rising The tower at the WBBH-TV transmitter site in Lehigh Acres is half up, Buerry said. He added he expects the tower will be completed and a test pattern on the air by the latter part of this week. After approval of the "proof ICWCl SHOPS "but the cable services there are required to provide a place for Channel 20's output and we expect to be able to announce them shortly." VATICAN CITY The Vatican broke silence Saturday on ihe widely read Dutch catechism, demanding that the controversial book be rewritten to emphasize traditional views on angels, papal power, the Eucharist and the virginity of Mary. While praising the revolutionary catechism for its "exceptional qualities," a Vatican commission of six cardinals appointed by Pope Paul VI demanded revisions in a declaration which amounted to a virtual ultimatum to Dutch theologians. The document acknowledged that the Pope had been unable to stop publication of the book, with its "wrong use" of modern opinions after the first copies appeared two years ago.

The catechism was issued in October, 1966, with the approval of the Dutch hierarchy, headed by Bernard Jan Cardinal Frink. The commission said the Pope had particularly objected to the catechism's questioning of traditional Church teachings that the mother of Christ was a virgin, that angels existed and that Christ had been crucified for remission of mankind's sins. Thousands of copies of the catechism have been sold, Port Charlotte. "We haven't been advised of the channel allocations on cablevision service to Naples or Lehigh Acres," Buerry said, 2278 FIRST STREET DOWNTOWN of performance" by the FCC, the station will begin a regular schedule of telecasting the middle of the month, Buerry said. The president said almost any owner of a television set produced since June of 1965 will be able to tune in Channel 20 through the use of the UHF channel on the station selector, though in some locations a special UHF antenna may be needed.

Sets built before June, 1965 may require a UHF adaptor, he declared. Cablevision Service Cablevision service will provide Channel 20 programs on Channel 6 in Fort Myers; Channel 3 in Cape Coral; Channel 8 in North Fort Myers and Fort Myers Beach, and Channel 13 in Punta Gorda and 1 particularly in Holland, where Roman Catholicism is noted for its progressive trend. It also was translated into English, French, German and Italian and became a best-selling book, although Church authorities have not authorized publication' in any language but Dtuch. The book is on sale in the United States. Rally Point It became the rallying point of many Church progressives, who challenged papal authority and the Pope's recent pronouncements on birth control, priestly celibacy and on preserving traditional doctrine.

The main author of the catechism was the Rev. Edward Schillebeeckx, whose views have been under Vatican investigation. The Vatican document call-ed the catechism "praiseworthy in its pastoral, liturgical and biblical character," but said revisions must make these points unmistakably clear: The Virgin Mary "always enjoyed the honor of virginity." The Roman Catholic Church is infallible in doctrine and faith, and the Pope's authority is "a supreme and universal power which the pastor of the whole Church can always freely exercise." "God, besides this sensible world in which we live, has created also a realm of pure spirits we call angels." Through the fall of Adam, all mankind is born in a state of sin. The bread and wine of the Eucharist are not mere symbols, when consecreated during the Mass they became "the very body and blood of Christ." The commission of six cardinals named by Pope Paul in 1967 to study the catechism included progressives and conservatives. They were Joseph Cardinal i archbishop of Cologne, Germany; Joseph Cardinal Lefebvre, archbishop Bourges, France; Lorenz Cardinal Jaeger, archbishop of Paderborn, Germany; Ermenegildo Cardinal Florit, archbishop of Florence, Italy; Michael Cardinal Browne of Ireland, assigned to the Vatican; and Charles Cardinal Journet of Switzerland.

This is regarded as a necessary preliminary to landing men there. Zond 6 and Zond 5, the first spaceship to make the trip to the moon and return, were revealed a week ago as dry runs for a manned moon flight. It was announced then that Zond 6 had taken pictures of the lunar surface but details were withheld.

No date has been given for a Soviet manned flight to the moon. Western experts have speculated it might be attempted early in December, before the United States launches its Apollo 8 to the moon on Dec. 21.
