The Santa Fe chapter of the American Business Womens Association, which gives women financial assistance to continue their educations, has awarded a total of $300 in scholarships for the 1991-92 academic year to Maria Aten-da of Pojoaque, and Rhonda Ortega, Jennifer Loretta Ewing and Laura Ann Christensen, all of Santa Fe. The University of New Mexico Center for Graduate Studies at Santa Fe and Los Alamos has announced oyd graduates for the 1990-91 academic year. The Santa Fe Center Masters Program in Public istration, spring 1991, awarded degrees to Eric Wolf, Kimberly ZeUik, Laura Ebinger, Gail Goodman-Jones, Rosemary Another Banking HILL SUNRISE TRACEY ANDERSON Elizabeth Anderson of Los Alamos has been named the permanent University of New Mexico-Los Alamos assistant campus director for student services.

Anderson is past president of the Los Alamos council for the Prevention of. Child Abuse and is an active member of. Los Alamos Citizens Against SubstanceAbuse. Sara L.Voorheea has had her poem, Urgency, published in Jerl Ahbehill, David P. Bradley.

Rick Hill, Pearl Sunrise and Ray Tracey, all Native Americans, have been named to the board of directors of the Southwestern Association on Indian Affairs in Santa Fe. Last December, the board named John Berkenfkld, Joan Caballero and James Kruger as new members. The association sponsor of Indian Market, will mark the 70th year or the Native American art exhibition Aug. 17 and 18. Antonio Anaya II and Jay Price, both of Santa Fe, and Silvia Giron of Pojoaque were among the spring graduates of the University of New Mexico General Honors Program.

Anaya, who graduated cum laude in political science, was co-chair of the University Bud tor UNM, the student government organization. Price graduated summa cum laude in history with a minor in Russian studies. He was a Presidential Scholar and member of several honor societies including Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Alpha Theta. Giron, a Presidential Scholar, graduated cum laude in English with a focus on creative writing, and a minor in philosophy. An Honors Program teaching assistant, she was also a staff member for Conceptions Southwest, a literary journal published at the university.

Monica Ogg, a sophomore at Rockhyrst College in Kansas City, Mo has been elected treasurer of Tri-Beta, a national biology club, for the 1991-92 school year. Ogg is a daughter of Matthew and Mary Ogg of Santa Fe, and a 1989 graduate of St Michaels High School. Gretchen Kinder, a daughter of Ruth Holmes Santa Fe, has been initiated into the Iota chapter of Kappa Theta at Westminster i in Fulton, Mo. Shuaib Axis, a student at McCurdy School in Espanola, is one of six New Mexico students nominated for a Caring Award, presented by the Caring Institute, a non-profit organization based in Washington. The award identifies young people who have demonstrated compassion and caring, seeks mechanisms to reinforce those instincts, and creates peer role models.
